The Chevrolet Corvette received a long-awaited redesign in 1963 and – with it – a new body style was offered: the Coupe. It came with a split-window arrangement in the back that proved to be a one-year-only deal as the window changed to one piece in 1964 for better visibility. Fuel injection was still available and was selected by just 12% of all Corvette buyers. This blue beauty was one of them, but it’s since been converted to a regular carburetor setup. Located in Lewiston, Maine, this otherwise primo ‘Vette is available here on craigslist for $139,900.
Buyers liked the all-new Corvette for 1963, and sales jumped to 21,500 units for the first time. Demand was split roughly 50/50 between the new coupe and the convertible, which could be optioned with a hardtop. A 327 cubic inch V8 was standard, with a 360 hp fuel injection version available for $430 extra at the time, an amount that’s close to $4,700 in 2026 terms. That explains why only 2,600 were ordered, with likely half going into a coupe like the seller’s car.
The seller says the auto is in “stunning condition” though no reference is made to original versus restored. The 327 V8 is period-correct, but not the factory block, and a prior owner took off all the fuel injection stuff so it’s back to a regular 4-barrel carburetor, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 69,000 miles and we don’t know when or why it ceased being a fuelie.
In every respect, this Corvette presents as a new showroom example that you could immediately begin using (and showing off). It has a side exhaust and factory-style knock-off wheels. If you need to see a video before shelling out nearly $140k, just ask the seller.
