The full-size Fords were in their third year of a design cycle in 1967, meaning they kept the stacked headlights that were adopted with the 1965 rework. These were big, capable cars that continued to find themselves in second place in sales behind Chevrolet. The seller has a 1967 Galaxie Custom (as he refers to it), which appears to have the formal roofline of the LTD rather than a fastback, so it’s possible this is the fancier LTD (no title to confirm). Ford’s Galaxie debuted in 1959 and was a fixture through 1974. It was joined by the LTD in 1965 as a luxury car (who remembers the ads comparing its quiet ride to that of a Rolls-Royce?). Galaxies and Galaxie XLs took on a fastback roofline in 1967, much like that of the Chevy Impala. The LTD’s had a more formal look with wider rear roof pillars and smaller rear side windows. We don’t know the history of this Ford, but it looks to have slowly been consumed by Mother Nature.
This Ford has a 390 cubic inch V8 with a 2-barrel carburetor. Original or not, we’re told the engine is locked up, so it may not be of much use. The motor is paired with a C6 automatic transmission, which we assume will require attention. The odometer reads 56,000 miles, so the car either died early on or is on its second time around. The auto was listed for sale nearly two months ago, and it appears takers have been few and far between due to its condition.
The black bench seat interior is toast, and the white paint on the outside isn’t any better. We assume you’ll find rust in some of the sheet metal or in the undercarriage. There is no title, which is another mark against trying to make this into a viable car again. If you bought it for parts, what’s here that would be useful? A title is not hard to get,just take the VIN to your local county clerk or where ever you get your plates apply for a title most the time within 30 to 60 days you’ll have it
Like I commented on another car earlier. They’ve let it sit outside accruing full on rust, then they think somebody else will waste their time and $$$$$ to restore it, and pay them for it!

This car is a mess. Nothing to look at here. 🤨 My parents bought a Ford Custom 500, in 1967, that my Dad said had the Galaxy Trim Pkg. A 4 door with a 390 and a 2 Barrel Carb. Unfortunately, in 1971, our family was in a major accident on I-75 Freeway, outside of Detroit, MI and the car was totaled.😑

$1,250 OBO? If anything it’ll be a best offer that clears away the debris. Once again, I understand that it’s a rescue and it’s been sitting for a long time, but why is it necessary for this once fine car to be presented in such condition? 😔
Because it’s probably not worth the effort in the sellers eye. At the sellers asking price potential buyers either want it or they don’t, the amount of junk around this is car nothing compared to many cars that have been featured on this site. I agree, the seller wiuld have been wise to clean up the area around the car, but they didn’t, that’s not likely to change.

That looks more like the fast back more than the formal roof to me. Either way, it looks like it’s not even much of a parts car
My parents had a 67 mercury colony park. Same powertrain as this car. What a cruiser that was. However, there is a time to scrap. Methinks this vehicle qualifies I hate to say.
I loved the full size Fords from 65-67 though
