The Regal debuted in 1973 as Buick’s equivalent of the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and the Pontiac Grand Prix. The first generation was based on GM’s new Colonnade A-body platform and had a formal roofline instead of the fastback of the more pedestrian Century. This Buick has only seen three owners, and the current one showered the 52,000-mile car with a ton of new parts. Located in Homer Glen, Illinois, this beauty is available here on eBay for $16,000 (which the seller says is the car’s appraised value). Our appreciation goes to Barn Finder “Curvette” for continuing to bring us neat tips like this one.

Regals would become a popular addition to Buick’s portfolio, selling more than 91,500 copies in 1973 alone. As the story goes, this example’s original owner kept it for 12 years. She passed it along to her grandson, who took it to shows through 2001, giving the auto a repaint during that time. For the next 24 years, the car was idled due to a blown head gasket. The seller acquired the Buick about a year ago and piled on a ton of new bits and pieces to make it roadworthy (and showworthy) again.

The assortment of new goodies includes, but is not limited to, the gas tank, fuel pump, tune-up parts, coil, lifters and rods, tires, battery, rebuilt 4-barrel carburetor, brakes, exhaust, and more. As a result, the 350 cubic inch V8 and Turbo-Hydramatic get the job done – and quite well. The seller has added 1,500 miles to the clock on his/her watch, and the buyer should have nothing to do besides enjoy the ride.

On this 52-year-old Buick, the body, paint, and interior all look up to snuff. You don’t run across one of these cars in this condition much anymore. The Regal would see six generations through 2020 when GM moved more to SUVs than sedans. Can you envision this Buick joining your stable?
Looks great, sounds great. Really nice 73 Buick bigtime. Thanks Dixon 👍
Seems like we have seen this one on BarnFinds before.
Please educate me, but do I see the distributor up front on GM V8?
Yes. Buick’s V-8 is engineered with a front distributor
Buick v8s all have the distributor up front.
350 buick!
was on eBay awhile back and did not sell. it’s neat but the price is a bit high. these were not a popular model like the other colonnade models. i think they will be sitting on this for awile
If they want the TOP APPRAISED DOLLAR for it they aren’t leaving any investment meat on the bones for the next owner unless they keep it for 30 years or until the average McDonalds employee makes $16k a month! This car is sweet but the color combo and bench seat say $10k TOPS!
Considering Buick was the step up division it took until ’73 for them to offer a more affordable personal luxury car like the Cutlass Supreme. I liked the Regal. Actually I liked all the Collonades. This should make someone a nice car.
“Wouldn’t you really want a Buick?”
Well, yes, and had quite a few. In 1981 I was working at a Buick dealership in NJ. Picked up a 1973 Buick Apollo for just $200. Once I gave it a tune up it was a great zippy little car. It had the 350 V8, auto, vinyl top, ps, pb. Really enjoyed that car. Significant other of the time bought a 1973 Buick Regal for I think $400. Just like this one only in a dark red, and not as good condition. That was nice riding car.
Love the Colonnades. Have owned four. The color and bench seat kill this one. But plenty of work has been done if you are going to actually DRIVE it.
That color was an original color? I’d rather not have this Buick.
