Another nice Ford truck from the prolific Idaho seller. This one has a little different vibe, with the front winch and the offroad-oriented heavy-duty tires mounted on base wheels. Yet with a sporty-looking steering wheel and column. New upholstery and carpet go a long way to improving the appeal of old trucks like this. This generation of F-series trucks are tough, yet attractive and collectible.
This is a stout rig! Not a fan of the boat anchor 360 but a beautiful truck.

Bidding is at $18400. My only qualm is that it doesn’t have the 460; being an F-250 it should’ve had that engine. But if you can afford the gas this is a terrific driver and great for C & C.
Ford didn’t offer 460s in 4x4s in the 70s
Thanks for the info, I just remembered seeing 460s in F-150s and assumed they were available in any F-250.
A lot of 5th generation restorers ruined their trucks by putting 460’s in them with a C-6 Automatic.
They did, however, offer a 400.
400 wasn’t offered till 77
No 385 series in four wheel drives available from Ford in this vintage…no 390s either in 4×4…

Another nice 70’s Ford that would look so good in this Chevy guys garage. These are the pickups that ruled the road growing up in the 70s and 80s. If you were in the trades you probably drove one. My kind of people. Working class Americans!

Still have my bewildering thoughts also. However, I live 35 minutes from Nampa. If there is someone seriously interested in this truck. I will be happy to drive over, after a interested party sets up a time and place, and do a walk around live video.

Ya know I read a comment about this seller/agent/consignor, which ever he is. What the heck happened? I would think that you would have claim if he is doing business in Idaho. But, then I read him say that he was some 2100 or 2700 miles from the truck. And then I see the low approval for some past transactions.

I ordered a 1979 F254 before with the 404 speed. Could not get the 460 only with Automatic still have the 79F250.

This one looks ready for work or play. Actually it’s pretty nicely trimmed for the kind of work truck we saw fifty years ago. I like the interior and exterior trim and the four -speed.
Wow. Flashback alert! Pops bought a nearly identical 1970 version of this same truck new, 360, 4speed, 4×4, Raven Black Ranger he called, “Midnight”.
I couldn’t have been more than 4 or 5 but I remember the day he drove it home. I was sitting on the curb when I saw him coming around the corner as proud as punch.
Several years later my brother an I were already loaded up waiting for Dad so we could go mow Grandma’s yard and for some reason Pop had a judges gavel in the truck. My brother picked it up and exclaimed, “Order in the Court!” and smacked the dash with the gavel causing the dash pad to split wide open in two places right on either side of where the gavel hit.
While I was laughing my ass off because I knew he was going to get a whipping, my brother was panicking trying to cover the split with paperwork and anything else he could find. Of course that didn’t work but much to my chagrin, Dad never gave him the beating he so richly deserved.
