The fourth generation Firebird will some day be a collector car, and you can still find clean ones for less than the price of a new compact car. This 1994 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is a one owner car with 71,394 miles, T-tops and the LT1 V8. It is offered by Just Used Cars in Bend, Oregon, and the asking price is $10,995. It was posted two days ago, and you can find it here on Craigslist. Pontiac introduced the fourth generation Firebird for 1993 with a sleek new body that was the most aerodynamic Firebird ever built, and the cars were assembled in Ste. Therese, Quebec. 1994 brought a convertible back to the lineup, and Pontiac celebrated 25 years of the Trans Am with the 25th Anniversary edition. Total Firebird production for 1994 was 51,523 cars across the base Firebird, Formula and Trans Am. We appreciate Curvette for sending us this listing.

Engine choices in 1994 were simple. The base Firebird had a 3.4 liter V6 rated at 160 horsepower, while the Formula and Trans Am shared the 5.7 liter LT1 V8 borrowed from the Corvette and rated at 275 horsepower and 325 lb ft of torque. V8 buyers could choose a six speed manual or a four speed automatic. Exterior colors for 1994 included Bright Red, Dark Teal Metallic, Black and Bright White, and interiors were offered in cloth or leather.

This Firebird is finished in teal with a black leather interior and is equipped with an automatic transmission, air conditioning and T-tops. The dealer says it is in original condition, and the photos show a clean engine bay and a nice interior. The 22 photos in the listing show straight body panels and shiny paint. As mentioned, the nose and wheels in the photos look like a standard Firebird or Formula, so a buyer will want to check the trim tag and options before buying. The dealer offers financing and will take trades.

The dealer lists this car as a Trans Am, and the VIN code fits, but the photos of the nose and wheels look more like a standard Firebird or Formula than the Trans Am’s front fascia. I am no expert in 4th generation Firebirds so let me know if this is a concern. At $10,995, this is one of the more affordable ways into an LT1 Pontiac. Would you buy this as a weekend cruiser or put it away as a future collectible?
