Parts Included: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro

The list of work that this ’68 Camaro needs is as long as your arm, but thankfully, it does come with a stash of new parts to get the ball rolling. It is a true blank canvas, and you will have the opportunity to stamp your mark on it. Located in Stettler, Alberta, Canada, you will find it listed for sale here on eBay.

Where do we start? Well, all of the floors will need to be replaced. There are a few other places where rust is an issue, including a spot in the top near the windshield on the passenger side. The remainder of the areas with rust can be pretty well addressed by the list of parts included in the sale. These include new doors, a new driver’s side fender, new quarter panels, new rockers, and new outer wheel wells. The car is fitted with rally wheels, and these include rings and caps. There is an SS grille, but there are no bumpers.

It looks like someone had all of the good intentions in the world, judging by the amount of chrome that is present under the hood. What is conspicuous by its absence is an engine and transmission. It is unclear what engine was fitted to this particular car, but we do know that it was a V8. The engine mounts are the factory items for a big block, but whether they are original is unknown. In the photos of the parts, an engine block can be seen, but there is no mention of that being included in the sale. What is included is a Muncie 4-speed transmission.

The first thing that I noticed when I looked at this photo of the interior is the fact that the dash pad looks to be free of cracks. Given the state of the rest of the interior, you have to grab those positives while you can. The base for the rear seat is missing, and there appears to be a seam separation on the passenger seat, but that still might be able to be saved. There is an aftermarket radio/cassette player fitted to the dash, but it doesn’t look like the dash has been cut to fit it. Looking at the interior from another perspective, when you consider the amount of work that it is going to take to bring the body up to scratch, the interior restoration will be a mere walk in the park.

There is no doubt that the Camaro represents a blank canvas, and the new owner will be able to truly make the car their own. Equally, there is no doubt that achieving this is going to take a lot of work, there is no denying that. It comes with a good selection of replacement parts to get the ball rolling, but for some of you, the sticking point might be the price. The owner has set this at $5,650, which some people might find a bit high for what this car is. While I would love to see it for sale for a lower price, I personally don’t think that it’s too bad. What do you think?
