When Buick redesigned its cars in 1959, the Invicta was added as a bridge between the LeSabre and Electra models. It held that position until the Wildcat took over that spot four years later. The seller’s 1960 Invicta is a 4-door sedan without an engine and (maybe) its bright work. It’s been prepared for painting but some more effort is needed. Located in Arcanum, Ohio, this roller is going to need restoring unless you opt to harvest it for parts. Available here on Facebook Marketplace, this Buick can be had for $2,000 OBO.
As was the case with all of General Motors’ automobiles in 1959/60, the goal was to sell lower and sleeker vehicles, much as Chrysler had done two years earlier. Buick may have derived the name from a Latin term that stood for invincible or unbeatable. Invicta’s like this one may have come with a 364 cubic inch “Fireball” V8 and a 2-speed “Twin Turbine” automatic. The engine is MIA, but the seller is said to still have the tranny, in or out of the vehicle.
This sedan should be one of nearly 11,000 produced in 1960 as an encore to the previous year’s edition. While red primer dominates most of the exterior, blue may have been the original color given some glimpses under the hood. The photos provided do not help to gauge the condition of the interior and we don’t know how much chrome has survived. The seller says he/she will consider a trade without mentioning parameters. Thanks for the tip, Barn Finder, “Ted”.
There are a lot of 1960’s through 1980’s running driving 4 doors in much better condition for not much more than this cars asking price. Unless this is someone’s dream car, why bother.
When I was first getting into cars someone told me buy the best car you can find that fits in your budget. It took a while to realize how good that advice was, some people never learn that lesson, other have forgotten it.

Hi I’m getting my 1960 Buick Invicta 4 Door Sedan is Restore my Car first and Deliver at 1691 East 174th Street, Apartment 8B, Bronx, NY 10474 Thanks
Problem is the value of the car, even if it is restored too number 1. Great car but interior premade is 5000 plus. good paint easy 6 to 8000$. You have a choice. Think about it.
Something else to think about is finding out what’s really under that primer.
