Race, Tour, Rally: It’s A Super Seven!

'62 Super Seven

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

The last Super Seven we featured back in August was a 1966 model. This one is a 1962 original left-hand drive Series 2 and it is listed here on eBay with the high bid of $17,877 with the reserve not yet met. This is an authentic vintage race car that was campaigned in the early 70’s and with the chassis plate and frame number matching the factory records.

This car has most of the items needed to make it street legal in many US states.  Some items listed that are with this car include: Chassis # SB1545 the original plate, Gotti racing wheel, TR-10 rear axle housing, a later Ford/Holbay crossflow motor, and a few other items.  The original windscreen, top and side-curtains are not included in the sale, but the owner says these are available.

There is a seat belt for one in this unit and that’s all you need when you go racing anyway.

This is the 1st Super Seven we have seen with a spare tire.  Have you ever seen one?  SB-1545, this car, was featured on the 1985 Pittsburg Vintage Grand Prix program.  The car is said to be a driver but there is some maintenance that needs/should be preformed.  There is a small leak in the radiator, the bushing in the shift linkage needs to be replaced and the speedometer is inoperable.  What a fun car to drive and own. Can’t you smell the Castrol Motor Oil from where you are right now?

Motor-on,

seller has 3 other very interesting race cars for sale. i wonder if the seller, listed as Kim Baker, used to build/race SCCA showroom stock race cars. this could make a great autocross/hillclimb/trackday car but i think it is going to get costly. there is a S4 with a spare tire carrier on ebay right now. great find.

Cool car would be miserable on a rainy day. I’d at least want more windshield.

Why would the original wind screen and side curtains not go with it? Saving them for another car?
