Ford restyled its popular Mustang for the second time in 1969, and added a new performance model, too. That addition was the Mach 1, and it would go on to account for a quarter of Mustang sales that year (even though the overall total dropped due to competition). The Mach 1 was only offered as a fastback, and this example has an S-Code 390 cubic inch V8 (according to the seller). But the listing here on eBay is lacking in both photos and description, which may not help the bidding reach the seller’s reserve. It’s available in Ridgewood, New York, and here on eBay for $8,000 and higher.
The styling refresh on the 1969 Mustang brought quad headlights for the one and only time. Based on a concept car, the Mach 1 debuted in ’69 and found more than 72,000 buyers, its best showing. A 351 cubic inch V8 was standard, though in later years that would be optional. On the order form, you could check the box for an S-Code 390 that output 320 horsepower. The seller says that’s what’s in this rough example, but no pics of the engine compartment or interior are provided.
Buyers got high-back bucket seats, a matte-black hood, a hood scoop, and a beefier suspension package when they ordered a 1969 Mach 1. The seller provides just seven words of detail, which only mirror the fill-in-the-blanks portion of the eBay listing. At one time, it looks as though this Mustang wore black paint with a black interior, but its condition is sketchy, and there is no mention of corrosion. Some of the tires are flat, so it hasn’t moved in a while.
We don’t know if this car is numbers-matching, assuming there is even an engine or transmission (4-speed) in the automobile. This is a perfect example of a purchase that should be made only after an in-person inspection, as anyone can post a handful of photos. This would have been a hot car – about 50 years ago.

I don’t see anything your buying except rust holes. Probably has Fred Flintstone floor boards. Not for me at any price.
This car is near me. 20 years ago it looked nice. Its been sitting in that spot for 20 years. Never moved

I personally believe that the market is rapidly closing on project cars like these. So…if you’re in a position to be patient and wait for the right deal to come your way, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for at a bargain price

not much else like these 1st gen FBs to me (dont like the ‘notch’ tho) on shore or off (esp at that time) in very much the same way today (size, comfort, style, cost).
I’d get rid of the ford extras – wings on window & trunk lid, even scoop off the fender scoop. Then to the sleeper mods ‘96+ sfi 351 (chassy, drive train, all of it but body/interior).
