Located in Orlando, Florida, these two classic BMW coupes are listed on craigslist as a package deal for $10,000. The 1966 2000CS and 3.0 CSI are both desirable “slicktop” models, meaning that they came without sunroofs. While the 2000CS has a motor and transmission, the CSI is a roller but has a complete interior. Despite the intact drivetrain, the earlier E9 does not run at the moment but the engine is free. Somewhat ominously, the seller references one of my least favorite things about buying a project: previous owners who have taken the car apart for various projects and never bothered to re-assemble them. You just know you’ll be hunting for hardware and other hard-to-find bits for months while you assess the damage. $10K seems a little steep to me at the moment, but if you’re able to snag the pair for less than that, both of the cars would be rewarding to own once finished. Thanks to reader Ian P. for the find.

Half a day’s drive for me. Dang this is tempting!!!
Rich, go see ’em. Bring $4K in cash and let us know what happens. ;-)
Rust will make you broke. Both of these models are prone to costly rust repair.
Parts cars, way too much money at 10K
If this is even close to 10k then I am rich, because I have 7 of these.
Interested in selling one or two to me?
Seller might need a reality check. Both cars are thousands of dollars away from being something.
