I know that there are plenty of people out there like me. We’d love to build ourselves a nice street rod, but the idea of modifying an old classic is a bit hard to swallow. Well, fear not, because this car might just be the ticket to that dream. Located in Imperial, Missouri, you will find this 1934 Ford 3 Window Coupe listed for sale here on eBay. The owner has set a BIN price of $6,500 for the Ford, but the option is available to make an offer.
For those who haven’t already guessed, the body for this Ford is a fiberglass replica. The photos aren’t the greatest, but we do know that it does appear to be largely complete. You get all of the fenders, the running boards, the hood, grille, and the shell. The only panels that don’t rate a mention are the doors, and I can’t see them in the photos either. It even looks like the windshield and rear glass are also present, along with the moldings.
There is a frame included with the car, and the title matches the frame number. The frame itself looks quite good, but it could use a clean and either a coat of paint or a trip to the powder-coater. There is also a Mustang front suspension to go with the car, although that might be about it for mechanical components. The owner also mentions that there are bucket seats, along with more parts that he doesn’t actually specify. That’s probably not a bad thing, because this really is going to be a chance for the new owner to build the car that they want, without being constrained by someone else’s ideas.
It’s probably a good thing for me that there are many miles and an entire ocean between me and this car. I currently have an empty workshop, and this really looks tempting. Street rods have been an integral part of the classic car scene for decades now, and the scene has experienced a bit of a resurgence in recent times. This might not be the cheapest project car on the planet, but I’ve had a bit of a scout around, and for what it is, the BIN price is extremely competitive. If you feel like indulging in a bit of classic nostalgia, then this might be just the car for you.
ZZ Top Eliminator anyone? That’s all I
could think about after seeing it. Now
I’ve got the song and the video in my
head again after 35 years! Time to see
the video on YouTube one more time!
ZZ Tops car is a Chrysler
Huh? What? Chrysler? The ZZ Top car, from all the videos (not personal vehicles owned by the Gibbons) is a 1933 Ford three window coupe. Made famous by every video the band put out for their Eliminator record.
Steve A, it’s a ’33 Ford https://www.rodauthority.com/features/hot-rods-you-should-know-billy-gibbons-1933-ford-eliminator/
…and again and again……
This is mine and part 34 ford
Thanks Slick. My 4 year old introduction to dirt track stock cars came, when this generation were being replaced by the 55 Chevys and Fords. I still think of them as THE dirt track stars…
Your tyre treads looks slippery thou.
This may be okay for a street rod, but nobody is going to make a traditional hot rod out of it. The ZZ Top Eliminator is a ‘33 Ford 3 window.
ZZTop 33 Ford ! What Part? You could fool me !
Glenn’s right. In any case this could be a fun project….Slickb, never got to see these car race but it’s nice to see one preserved.
Yup, 33 ford Don Thelan of buffalo motor cars did that for Billy.
