The VW Beetle has proved to be a very flexible tool in the kit car builders toolbox. They can be used to create GT40 replicas, batmobile replicas – or anything which takes your fancy due to the simple nature of the chassis and cheap availability of the cars. One of the most popular types of conversions was the Dune Buggy, which is the most prominent and well-known of the conversions. In fact, these are so popular that they are still being built and completed today – including the one we see here today which has recently been converted on a 1961 chassis and is available in Wichita, Kansas. The Berry Mini T was a conversion offered by Berry, who had a simple fiberglass body that could be bolted to the VW chassis and built into a hot rod style car, with echoes of classic 1920s cars. Our seller has converted his into a dune buggy in black with the conversion completed recently. There is a new 1600cc engine in the car which is said to run well and potentially had some upgrades but the seller is unsure what these may have been. However, it runs well and has had a lot of care and attention spent on bringing this up to spec, insofar as it has won two awards for best of show in recent months.

The fiberglass exterior is in mint condition, as well as the rest of the car. The engine looks spotless and those exhaust pipes will definitely turn heads at your next car meet. Whilst the interior is basic, it has been clad in leather and has a number of Bosch gauges that cleanly fit on the dash behind the wheel. You can tell this has been a well-built and well looked after car which will have many years of service ahead of it. And thanks to its VW mechanicals, parts and upgrades will be easy to come by.
