There is nothing like slipping behind the wheel of a classic Convertible on a fine day. With the sun on your back and the wind in your hair, life doesn’t get much better than that. Someone will enjoy that experience if they hand over the cash for this 1967 Ford Fairlane XL Convertible. It presents extremely well, and with a V8 under the hood, the new owner can enjoy the satisfying exhaust note that these motors produce. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Curvette for spotting the Fairlane listed here on eBay in Guttenberg, Iowa. It could be yours for $28,500, though you can make an offer.

The 1967 model year marked the end of the line for Ford’s Fifth Generation Fairlane range. It only spent two years on showroom floors, and its successor would share the same honor. This ’67 is an XL Convertible that presents nicely in Dark Moss Green Metallic. It’s a striking color with greater depth than lighter shades, adding a classy touch that is hard to ignore. The exterior of this Fairlane looks excellent, with the paint shining and the panels free from bumps, bruises, and rust. The contrasting White power top is in good condition, and I can spot no obvious trim issues. This gem recently received a sparkling new set of Magnum 500 wheels, wrapped in new tires from the fine folks at BF Goodrich. They may not be original, but they suit this car’s character perfectly.

The positive vibes continue inside this Fairlane. Hiding a sub-standard interior is a challenge with any classic Convertible, but the buyer won’t face that dilemma. The black vinyl-upholstered surfaces are free of wear and distress, and the pad is crack-free. The dash is generally in good order, though some faux-chrome trim pieces exhibit developing deterioration. However, addressing that issue would be easy because affordable reproduction parts are readily available. Life aboard this Ford will be pretty comfortable, thanks to this classic’s ice-cold air conditioning, bucket seats, a console, and a pushbutton radio.

This Fairlane won’t be the fastest car on the planet, although with its 289ci V8 delivering a factory-claimed 200hp, it won’t be a sloth. The power feeds to the road via a three-speed automatic transmission, and the first owner ordered the car with power steering and power brakes. The listing images indicate that the vehicle may have recently received new shocks, a range of suspension bushings, an aluminum radiator, and new mufflers. There is no information regarding how the vehicle runs and drives, but the indications appear favorable.

I share my late father’s passion for classic Fords, and although he wasn’t a fan of Green paint, I am sure that he would have liked this 1967 Fairlane XL Convertible as much as I do. Its lack of rust and tidy presentation make it an attractive option for those seeking a turnkey drop-top, although the seller’s listing hasn’t generated enormous interest. Do you share my affection for this Fairlane? If so, are those feelings strong enough for you to pursue it further? I admit I will feel envious if you eventually park this gem in your garage.

I’d love to have this, and the green exterior is a plus along with the AC.
This beauty looks like the blueprint for a Seven-Up Mustang!
These just are creeping up in value, good looking cars and the stacked headlights with the slanted front fenders I think is part of it. They look as if they are moving. This one with a fresh set springs and some new carpet would present really nice. Drive em!
Just a bit of fixing up certain things and just drive and enjoy, These to me just have the look of Muscle Car !! Nice…
I hope BF is giving Curvette a finders fee for all of these great cars.
nice
Fortunately I am the owner of an “S” Code 1967 XL 4 speed toploader rotisserie restored convertible. However I’m converting it to a 427, dual quad Sniper Cross Ram intake with a Tremec 5 speed,, “back halved with a full 2 x 4 connected frame. It has AC also. I have loved the ’66 and ’67s since they came out. These models exude style in my opinion.
Amazing ! Not 50, 60,000 thou like the rest of the so called ( sitting on a dealers turn table in showroom ) barn finds. This is a nice color combo. Nice that its not pea green interior. Someone will buy this .
