The Coronet nameplate was revived in 1965 after a five-year absence and applied to the B-body intermediate platform. The Coronets were mostly family cars, though you could get an R/T with big-block power. This 1968 edition appears to be a barn find (or perhaps a lake find) that is quite rusty and in need of restoration. But that may depend on the condition of the undercarriage. Located on the back of a trailer in Edison, New Jersey, this ambitious project is available here on craigslist for $3,800. Thanks, “Zen,” for the Mopar tip!

All Chrysler B-bodies received a redesign in 1968, and sales were up across the board. Production of the Coronet 440 (which this hardtop likely was when new) exceeded 108,000 units across all body styles. Though a 225 cubic inch Slant-Six was standard, we suspect most of these Coronets had the 318 V8, which is said to be in the seller’s car (no engine photos). With a TorqueFlite automatic transmission, they were reliable performers.

From the limited number of photos provided (no interior either), this car has a lot of body damage. It has no doubt been neglected for years, and its claimed 70,000 miles aren’t much of a factor at this stage. The car sits rather low, so has it been lowered, or has Mother Nature taken care of that? Because of the car being camera-shy, it’s hard to tell how complete the vehicle is, but rust has consumed much of it.

We’re not sure what you could harvest from the Dodge, should “parts car” be the route you’d want to go. And since it doesn’t run, you might jettison the 318 for something more robust and modern. The seller prefers calls only and no emails, but a phone number would have been a nice inclusion. Is this a good buy or a goodbye?

Just needs a wash and wax.
Wash, COMPOUND, then wax.
You can’t skip steps if you want a show car
Reminds me of Planes, Trains & Automobiles – oh, that’ll buff out, no problem!
Rustmageddon.
You mean wash, squash and then wax.
You’ll be left with a very clean well waxed cube of compressed scrap metal.
Pretty much junk.
Incredible shreddable.
Overpriced for a parts car, too far gone to be a viable project.

This one has been slapped around a lot
If it had a worth while drive train, probably but way to much work for abase type car that you wont get your money out of it later on if you choose..
“I’m telling you, Uncle Bob. There’s folks out there that’ll pay you cash money for this thing. Put her up for sale on them thar interwebs!”
“NO LOWBALLERS” ( I know what I got)
finally something on this site that actually looks like a barn find.
I suspect cars of this quality are not so easy to come by so BF’s has to fill out their content with something even if its just these awful exotics, balefully modified vehicles and “wouldn’t you love to have this car” tease features.
An editors gotta do what an editors gotta do!
I’m getting a vision for my next rat rod. Does that price say “$38.00?
no saving this 300.00 rot bucket if you are smart.
One of these just sold on BaT for $2,200. Granted it was a 4dr sedan but it was in light years better shape than this thing. “No low ballers” lol. I think he’s been drinking too many highballs.
$3800!!! Huh? 70 is around the corner for me & I’m in better shape than that offering. Good grief. 😂
NO!
’round here, stuff like that goes for a couple hundred, tops…in Cuba, it would be like pure gold…
With the front tires pushed up into the wheel wells the way they are…tells you everything you need to know about this Mopar
I suspect that the torsion bar crossmember has rotted away.
That’s a gonnerdonner with cheese.
