A full-sized SUV with just two doors? There aren’t many SUVs with this body style configuration being made today, and I can’t even think of one off-hand. No, the new Bronco isn’t a full-sized SUV, I’m talking about one the size of a second-gen Bronco, or a Chevy Blazer, or something like this 1985 Dodge Ramcharger Royal SE 4×4. The seller has this one listed here on eBay in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the current bid is $670, but, of course, the reserve isn’t met.
This is one of the nicest Ramchargers I’ve seen in over nine years here at Barn Finds. It’s not as clean and detailed as some are, but it looks good, whether it’s dirty and dusty or not. The best part? The seller says here is “zero rust”, the two best words in the used vehicle world as far as I’m concerned.
This is reportedly a one-owner vehicle from California; it’s wearing its original two-tone paint, and the interior is said to also be original. The current bid is only $670? Really? That’s a bit lower than Hagerty’s suggested #3 good-condition value of $25,500. Just a bit lower. I don’t really see a flaw on the exterior, or even underneath, which almost looks too good to be true. The one area we don’t get to see is the rear cargo area; bummer.
Dodge offered customers the updated second-generation Ramcharger from 1981 through 1993 here. They were available in a range of trim levels, but only one body style and never with more than two doors and a rear hatch, or liftgate. You could get either 2WD or 4WD, and this is a very well-equipped Royal SE trim 4WD version. The interior looks great from what we can see, with no rips or cracks in the dash, having power windows, and perfect seats both front and rear.
This is the big engine, Dodge’s 360-cu.in. OHV V8 with 175 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It’s backed by a New Process (NP208) two-speed transfer case and TorqueFlite automatic sending power to all four wheels as needed. It’s said to start, idle, and run “excellent,” and I’d love to know what the seller’s reserve is on this gem. How much do you think this Ramcharger will sell for?

Twin snorkels ??? Someone added one i guess as i don’t remember.a Chrysler.V-8 in the 80’s that had these. At least it looks nice. Four barrel ?? Nan probably a two. Interestingly.same steering wheel as my ex’s 87 Shadow. Looks like it needs a deep cleaning and tlc on the paint but nothing.two good week ends worth of elbow grease wouldn’t do
When you see these you automatically think Border Patrol π¨ πΊπΈ
Same thing I thought or a forestry vehicle. Still pretty sharp though.
Lone Wolf McQuade.
My thoughts to Jim, Living here in Nevada since 1996 it is a rust free vehicle and the price seems right and it has the 360 engine!
I had one of these for 9 years 318 se trim loved that vehicle , plowed , pulled pushed , finally the tin worm got it , never a major problem , not good on gas but always got the job done , this one makes me home sick for another one !
Weird auction update: this one says – “This listing was ended by the seller on Mon, May 5 at 2:32 PM because the item was lost or broken.”
What?
I’m not quite sure how you lose a truck like this. Its not painted in any kind of Camouflage, so its not like its blending in with the shrubs in the driveway.
That being said its very few and far between to see Ramcharger as nice as this I really think what Robert stated was spot on ( pardon the pun lol) but two weekends of cleaning would really make this look terrific. And it has a 360 as well, another hugh plus. Nice truck Scotty.
Agreed with Driveinstile This is my second comment. A 360 engine nice and it is unmolested
Ha, yeah, something weird there for sure, Driveinstile! It looked like a winner, I’m not sure what happened there.
Probably sold it locally.
