The 1975 model year was the sixth time since 1968 that Oldsmobile and Hurst Performance partnered for a limited-production muscle car. Buyers could choose from either white or black paint and either a 350 cubic inch V8 (W-25) or a 455 V8 (W-30). The seller’s car has the latter, and it is somewhat rough in a garage in Brookeville, Maryland, where it may have been sitting for 40 years. For the 1975 run, the Hurst/Olds was based on the Cutlass Supreme and was the first GM car to offer T-tops. Your V8 of choice came with a catalytic converter for the first outing, too, and photos show the one on this car has survived. Olds and Hurst collaborated on 2,535 editions of the car, of which 1,293 copies were painted white (roughly 50%). And 1,193 units had the 455 V8, so it seems logical that about 600 were fashioned the way the seller’s Olds was. The seller provided these stats.
This is a numbers-matching auto, but the pics don’t show what’s under the hood. The seller says the vehicle is okay mechanically and may have been driven into the driveway for the photos provided. The car has 66,000 miles, and its appearance suggests it led a hard life in its early years (possibly during its first decade). This vehicle is fully loaded, including the T-Tops and swivel bucket seats. We’re told everything is in working order except the wipers, power trunk opener, and factory air conditioning.
The next owner will need to redo the paint (a second time) and replace the vinyl roof covering. Rust is not an issue, though the photos might disagree. Also, install a new set of Goodyears or Firestones. Recent repairs done by the seller include the carpeting, shock absorbers, a fluid change, the fuel tank, and a tune-up. If you take the car at full price, the seller will throw in a spare set of T-Tops in good shape.
