The 1975 model year was the sixth time since 1968 that Oldsmobile and Hurst Performance partnered for a limited-production muscle car. Buyers could choose from either white or black paint and either a 350 cubic inch V8 (W-25) or a 455 V8 (W-30). The seller’s car has the latter, and it is somewhat rough in a garage in Brookeville, Maryland, where it may have been sitting for 40 years. This low-volume project is available here on eBay for $12,900.
For the 1975 run, the Hurst/Olds was based on the Cutlass Supreme and was the first GM car to offer T-tops. Your V8 of choice came with a catalytic converter for the first outing, too, and photos show the one on this car has survived. Olds and Hurst collaborated on 2,535 editions of the car, of which 1,293 copies were painted white (roughly 50%). And 1,193 units had the 455 V8, so it seems logical that about 600 were fashioned the way the seller’s Olds was. The seller provided these stats.
This is a numbers-matching auto, but the pics don’t show what’s under the hood. The seller says the vehicle is okay mechanically and may have been driven into the driveway for the photos provided. The car has 66,000 miles, and its appearance suggests it led a hard life in its early years (possibly during its first decade). This vehicle is fully loaded, including the T-Tops and swivel bucket seats. We’re told everything is in working order except the wipers, power trunk opener, and factory air conditioning.
The next owner will need to redo the paint (a second time) and replace the vinyl roof covering. Rust is not an issue, though the photos might disagree. Also, install a new set of Goodyears or Firestones. Recent repairs done by the seller include the carpeting, shock absorbers, a fluid change, the fuel tank, and a tune-up. If you take the car at full price, the seller will throw in a spare set of T-Tops in good shape.

If it really sat four decades, the photos that decide the price are the ones sellers never post: rear window channel, trunk drop-offs, floor pans, and the frame rails behind the rear wheels. neat car. it’s been for sale for a while. that top does not encourage things. it’s more likely worse than it looks. either way the car needs a proper redo all the way around. may be worth it if you buy this right or just drive the balls off it.
Thanks for your comments. I probably should pull the top off as it would probably show better. No rust that I can detect underneath by pulling up areas of it. Plus not bubbling underneath. and not a spot of rust anywhere in the trunk or around the wheel wells, so if the roof had leaks those areas wouldn’t be solid like they are. Runs great, has the working digital tach and loaded with options. Never ever seen Tempmatic Air in one of these Hursts, and I have owned 6 of them over the last 45 years.
The aftermarket has ignored these cars and will NEVER help 73 to 77 GM A body fans like me. The 600 number is BS. 2,535 built, about half white, half black. Good luck finding the correct heavily padded vinyl roof for these cars. Photos lousy. New seat covers cannot be bought. One thing of note. It is likely this car never saw much sun. The first thing to fry in these interiors are those rear sail panels with the Hurst emblem that cover the rear side windows, found in a regular Cutlass. These appear in very good shape. Next to a Hurst digital tach, these pieces are impossible to find.
The Corvette had t-tops starting in 1968. 1975 was the first year for the glass Hurst Hatches, only available on the Hurst Olds, no other Cutlass could get them that year.
