At nearly 19 feet long, the 1966 Cadillac DeVille was certainly one of the larger U.S. drop-top offerings for its time period, and one that would get you there in style with plenty of comforts.  This one’s got a great history that can be traced all the way back to day one, as it’s only been in the hands of a single owner since it was purchased new, and after 56 years has racked up just 56,000 miles.  If you’ve been in the market for a well-kept vintage American convertible, this 1966 Cadillac DeVille may be a good match for you.  It’s located in Chester, New York, and can be found here on eBay with a current bid of $18,500, less than the reserve it will take to drive this one home.

The story goes that the Cadillac was purchased new by the original owner in New Jersey, but the following year he moved to California.  The good news here is that the car was also relocated to California at the same time, where it spent the rest of its life until the owner moved back to New Jersey a couple of years ago and brought it back with him.  The car is stated to have always been garaged, with only one repaint in its original white color, and is said to have never seen salt or snow.  Apparently, the seller either recently acquired the car from the original owner or is selling it for him, and the feedback shows he has sold several cars through the years with 100% satisfied buyers over the last 12 months and beyond.

Things inside are looking nicely preserved, and overall the interior is stated to be in excellent condition, as is the top.  The seats and dash look really good for a convertible with this much age, which seems like a testament to the care that has been given to this Cadillac over the years, although the steering wheel could benefit from some refreshing.  The power top is said to operate flawlessly, with the lights and gauges also in proper working order.

It takes some power to move nearly 4,500 pounds around and Cadillac didn’t disappoint, offering its 429 cubic-inch V8 as standard equipment, which delivered 340 horsepower and 480 pounds of torque right from the factory.  The seller says the car runs and drives extremely well, plus it’s a factory A/C car with all of those components still hooked up but in need of a charge.  Everything else under the hood also appears to be present.

We get no less than half a dozen photos from the underside, which seem to back up the seller’s claim that this is a 100% solid and rust-free car.  I’m not seeing any leaks or strange stains under there either, and am wondering if that might not even still be the original exhaust system.  What are your thoughts on this 1966 Cadillac DeVille Convertible?
