Sigh. The C4 Corvette: will we ever give it the love it deserves? This 1992 convertible not only shows low miles but also sports an attractive color combo featuring Polo Green over tan leather. With just 31,000 miles on the clock, it’s effectively in mint condition. The C4 faithful will argue in favor of this striking color scheme, and the seller himself has already done the work to confirm it’s one of just 545 in this color for the 1992 production year. Thanks to Barn Finds reader T.J. for the tip. In any other universe, the asking price of a survivor-grade muscle car in great colors would be an easy sale. However, the nearly $25,000 price tag will make this one a hard car to move, especially with the optional automatic transmission. The seller notes that the saw blade wheels are in perfect condition, as is the tan convertible top – and the cosmetics certainly do appear to be top-notch. But for anyone who has ever wanted a C4, will this car be the one to get them to place a deposit?
The seats do appear to be in fantastic condition, with little in the way of wear-and-tear. The seller is not wrong – seeing a C4 without a black interior is refreshing – and the sport seats in a Corvette of this era will always be one of the best looking buckets found in a muscle car. However, I’m not sure it’s enough to get to the seller’s asking price. If you take a peek at recent auction results, it’s not pretty: even low mileage ZR1s are struggling to meet reserve prices, maxing out in the low $20,000 range. A recent Collector Edition with 30K miles sold for $15,000!
The 5.7L LT1 engine produces 300 b.h.p. and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. It is an immensely usable driver train, making the C4 an easy car to live with. Maintenance costs are low, and problems are well-documented: the Optispark distributor, serpentine belt, spark plugs and wires, and normal fluid changes round out the list of to-do’s. The only modification on this Corvette is an aftermarket Bluetooth radio, and the seller has included the original head unit. Do you think the semi-rare color scheme will help this example meet its asking price?

Nice looking color combo and condition but $10K too much. Recently saw a ‘93 anniversary edition convertible, with hardtop, ruby red and matching interior, only 21K miles. Could have bought under $20K and more collectible than this one. Always liked the look of the C4 other than the cheap looking dash and console. Probably why I never bought one.

My gut. This owner is so accustomed to everything being high dollar they believe everything that they own is collector grade. When a owner dwells on the color of a 34+ year old Plain Jane a/t convertible Corvette as the dominant sale point I tend to raise a eyebrow.
I’m sure that the car is everything he/she says it is, NOT doubting that. However, their price is in the clouds. Half of the asking $$$ would be my happy number. One third of that number would have to be added just getting it to my place here in the wild wild west.
Then, don’t forget this little Vette is still a nothing fancy C4.
Handsome as hell she is. Doubt you’ll grow tired of the color combination. Yeah, it’s just an automatic, C4, but looks like you’d get years of enjoyment and your wife’s approval. Go ahead and chisel him down a bit.

Say, did this year of the C4 have a removable hardtop? I’m rusty on the C4.
The brochure lists the removable hardtop as an available option.

Too much for the car, although it looks great. Interesting is the photo of the passenger seat but not the drivers… likely it has visible wear.
The problem with asking 25K for any C4 is the other Corvettes that same money can buy. C3, C5, even C6. All are great cars, so you have to love a C4 over all of the other in order to spend that kind of dough.
This is my favorite color combo, though. Same as what I had on my ’70.
Yes. $25k is solid C4 ZR1 money, too. And wouldn’t you rather have a ZR1?
According to the Corvette black book, the total quantity of vettes in this color was 1, 995 great color combo but not uncommon.
