While some enthusiasts prioritize originality above all else, others will compromise, provided the vehicle in question retains its inherent character. If you fall into the latter category, you may be drawn to this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS Convertible. It features an upgraded V8 under the hood, though some will undoubtedly welcome the news that the deal includes the original motor if the buyer wishes to revert to it. The seller describes it as a turnkey proposition, and with summer fast approaching, it would be ideal for those wishing to maximize their warm-weather fun. The seller has listed the Camaro here on eBay in Franklin, Wisconsin. Bidding has raced past the reserve to $29,600, meaning that a new home is days away for this RS.

Chevrolet’s First Generation Camaro hit a sweet spot with customers when the company unveiled it for the 1967 model year. Buyers liked what they saw, and sales were immediately quite strong. The styling won widespread praise, and this Camaro’s first owner emphasized that by ordering it in Bolero Red with a White soft-top. It features contrasting White stripes and the distinctive grille and headlight covers forming an integral part of the RS package. The paint holds a deep shine, and there are no visible dings or dents. The images reveal a couple of minor paint chips, but this Camaro makes a positive first impression. The seller states that it has always been treated respectfully, and nothing in the supplied images suggests abuse. The top fits nicely, with no rips or tears, and the glass is clear. The trim sparkles under the sun, and the Rally wheels look perfect. It is easy to see why this Convertible has generated so much interest since hitting the market.

I admit I was slightly surprised by this Camaro’s interior. I expected that, given the first owner’s choice of soft-top color, it may have been trimmed in White vinyl. However, they selected Black, which is probably a better long-term proposition. White looks classy when new, but can deteriorate with age. This car’s vinyl shows no such problems, with no wear or other issues. The carpet is excellent, and the lack of wear beneath the driver’s feet is particularly noteworthy. The dash and pad are excellent, as is the console. It features an aftermarket stereo, and at least one of the door-mounted speakers is missing its cover. Otherwise, the interior is another aspect of this Camaro that needs nothing.

Lifting this Camaro’s hood reveals a 350ci V8. The remaining major components include an automatic transmission, power steering, and power front disc brakes. The transmission type is not specified, although with the first owner equipping the car with a 327ci powerplant, it would have been a two-speed Powerglide. However, the seller may have decided to swap that unit out when they bolted in the 350. They describe the replacement engine as powerful, confirming that this classic runs and drives perfectly. Those preferring authenticity will welcome the news that the numbers-matching 327 is included, allowing them to return this classic to its factory form.

The moment I spied this 1967 Camaro RS Convertible, I had a clear vision of how I would approach it should it find its way into my garage. I would carefully store its original V8, ensuring that it remained healthy. I would enjoy this classic in its current form, revelling in the improved performance of the upgraded 350. If I later decided to sell, I would reinstall the original motor, potentially maximizing the financial return on my investment. Would you do the same, or do you have other ideas in mind?

The car looks nice………..in pictures, but there are no pics of the important areas such as, underneath, trunk, floors. The seller has 5 feedback, one is a negative. If someone was interested in this car, I would suggest putting eyes on the car and a thorough inspection.
