The Monte Carlo debuted in 1970 as Chevrolet’s first entry into the personal luxury car market. It was based on the similar Pontiac Grand Prix but had the Chevy family look of the Chevelle Malibu. The second generation (1973-77) remained popular even as gasoline prices were rising. This 1975 Landau edition has a factory 454 cubic-inch V8 under the hood, the last year it would be offered in the Monte. Changes were few to the Monte Carlo in 1975 over 1974, and it would be the last time it wore round headlights (stacked rectangular ones came along in 1976). In an otherwise down market for big car sales, nearly 260,000 Monte Carlos found new homes in 1975. Most were equipped with the 350 V8, but the seller’s car had the detuned 454, which probably didn’t offer a huge advantage in the car compared to a few years earlier.
We see SS (Super Sport) emblems on this black vehicle, but the SS was a 1970-71 thing, so someone may have purchased them online and stuck them on to go with the aftermarket wheels. The seller offers minimal information on this car, and several of the photos are dominated by a big finger trying to cover up things (like license plates). You’d be better served by taking a couple of minutes to tape a piece of newspaper over the plates first.
There’s no mention of whether the paint and interior are original, but they look like they could be. The Chevy has swivel bucket seats, which were popular in GM’s A-bodies in the 1970s. Everything seems to work except the air conditioning, whose compressor is MIA. There is no rust or statement of any repairs needed, so this should be a turnkey purchase once you present the 15 large.
If you gonna sell a car for this price the AC ought to be working.

Yeah it’s a driver. These later year 454 and 400 auto can be woken. Loose the ss bling. I would say the 73’s offered the best colonnade look too
Decent Monte her. I did notice it has power locks and manual windows. My 1977 4 door caprice had the same steering wheel and red interior. Agree that the SS emblems have to go and that it should have the A/C compressor and working for that price. Ralley rims would look good too.
