While it isn’t painted in its original color, this 1957 VW Beetle looks really nice in its British Racing Green. Given the fact that the paint was applied in 1986, it has held up well in the ensuing 32 years. The owner had never intended to sell the car but has found the car of his dreams, so go it must. You will find the Beetle listed for sale here on eBay. It’s located in Barre, Massachusetts, and is being sold with a clear title.
The presentation of the Beetle is nothing short of fantastic. The paint has a nice shine to it, and the trim all looks super clean. While British Racing Green is not a VW color, it really suits the Beetle beautifully. The Rag-Top looks to also be in great condition, and the paint contrasts nicely against both that and the whitewall tires.
Under the hood are a standard VW 1,200cc engine and 4-speed manual transmission. The owner says that the car starts easily, and drives, stops and handles perfectly. It has recently been fitted with a new 6-volt battery, and even the current cold climate hasn’t hindered the car in any way.
The interior is also really nice. Once again the presentation is close to faultless. The radio delete panel has been removed from the dash, as the owner had intended to install a radio, but this hasn’t happened. The delete panel has been drilled for a radio, but it will be the new owner’s choice as to whether they fit a radio, or replace the panel.
The Beetle could be used as a daily driver, and it should handle these duties admirably. Alternatively, it could be used as a cool weekend cruiser. Solid bidding has pushed the price to $14,100 at the time of writing. With the reserve now reached, someone looks like they will be getting themselves a nice little toy for Christmas.
The autohaulic in me seems to want 25% of the cars listed on Barn Finds. This is no exception. What a beautiful VW with the rag top. NICE!
Cool little rig for sure. For maybe the same amount of cabbage, I will take that restored 1978 4 speed Concord.
Is there a roof rack that goes with it? Apparently, nobody wants to be caught dead without one at V-dub meets.
With a metal Coke or Pepsi ice chest.
How about adding a front visor over the windshield and louvers for the rear window?
This is a good example of that color can mean everything. The British Racing Green couldn’t look any better. Sharp bug.
My first car! Ragtop sunroof, last of the small rear windows.
Stunning bug! Guess this one is worth the 15 large that its up to now. Buy it now is 24k. I can’t afford but a true vw buff would hit a home run.
Good luck to the new owner. Happy Motoring!
Cheers

It’s really nice….is one you’d drive all over ?
What an absolutely beautiful stunning VW! Looks like it will be a Merry Christmas for both Buyer and Seller as the sale will allow the Seller to acquire the Porsche 912 he wants to purchase.
I just may have gotten myself in trouble! I am in, and darnit I will probably go higher if needed!
Listing says no reserve so…right now it’s at $15K with a day to go.
I know! Holding breath! LOL, you never know tho in the end! What, or how high the winning bid will be! This value of this one will be determined on somebody’s wants! I always wanted one that’s why I commented that I will go higher! I want this one very badly! I will be watching until the end, and who knows, I just might go to the sky?
Good Luck WW–good to see your enthusiasm. Get what you want bud, this aint no dress rehearsal. I’d drive the wheels off it!4
Cheers
