Comes With Trailer: 1959 Triumph TR3A

Up until I purchased my first trailer I felt very helpless when there was a cool find I learned about but couldn’t follow up on because there was no way to get it home. That’s not a problem with this $3,900 1959 Triumph TR3A project car that’s for sale here on craigslist–it comes with it’s own enclosed trailer! Thanks to Ikey H. for this cool find that’s located in Cape Coral, Florida.

The seller tells us that the 7 x 16′ enclosed trailer was purchased in 2012 to store the car and that it has covered less than 300 miles since then. It even comes with some spares such as another set of springs and a new spare tire.

We don’t get to see a whole lot of the car in one picture, but it looks far less rusty than a lot of TR2/3/3A/3B projects I’ve seen restored. There are some extra parts for the car as well, including a second and third grille, two extra doors and a pair of spare carburetors (although they look like later Strombergs rather than SUs).

The seats look like you could just recover them and be done, but many times the seat pan is rusty and requires some rebuilding.

This should be a 1991 cc version of the wet-liner four-cylinder engine that served Standard-Triumph well for so many years. It looks intact and the car as a whole looks very complete from what we can see. I think this is a really good price for the package, especially considering the seller states that they have clear titles for both the trailer and the car. Please let us know if you pick this find up!

I can’t really find fault with a deal like this. Once the TR is removed from the trailer at the new owner’s house, the trailer becomes a valuable addition to the toolbox especially if, like me, there are always hulks around to be picked up and dragged home. Wish this was closer.

I was in the Cape about a month ago. To bad it was not listed then, if it was, it would be living in Wisconsin now.

How can you lose? I’m sure the trailer is at least 2 grand by itself. Cant see the TR too well but seems honest fr om what we can see. Follow the tow vehicles to Florida. Seller seems honest and motivatred. Good luck to the new owner!

    Happy Motoring

I wish I could say, “We’re on our way!” This is that rare screaming deal and it is only a day or two away.

It’s a good deal!! Not a Triumph guy (unless it’s a motorcycle) but I think you could seek the trailer and just about get the car for free or maybe the other way around!!!
