Low Mileage Beauty! 1989 Chevrolet Blazer K5 4×4

Tuxedo black with a nearly perfect red interior, this 1989 Chevrolet Blazer K5 4×4 Silverado in Spokane, Washington runs and drives “excellent,” according to the seller. With a claimed original 60,061 miles and “no rust,” this handsome late ’80s SUV could offer years of service. Check out dozens of pictures and more details here on eBay, where at least 12 bidders have the well-equipped Chevy’s market value above $16,000 so far. The five-year-old paint in original black looks great.

Power locks, power windows, automatic transmission, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, and cruise control offer comfort that would have flabbergasted truck owners a decade earlier. While it’s unclear if all those features work, the seller confirms that all power windows including the power tailgate function properly.

The ubiquitous 350 cid (5.7L) V8 promises a reasonable blend of performance and economy for a vehicle of this vintage, and the lack of cheesy touch-up paint supports the “no rust” claim, if you’re talking about crunchy structural rust. Surface rust visible here would not concern most potential buyers.

Credit the seller for showing an arsenal of pictures including undercarriage shots that should let buyers bid with some confidence. If you’re just going to wave your cell phone around and take landscape pictures in portrait mode, put half the car outside the frame of the picture, or use low resolution settings for the underwater-look, don’t even think about posting an asking price above $500. This seller makes none of those mistakes, showing plenty of pictures of a vehicle that’s been properly prepared for sale. Well done! It’s hard to find a two-door SUV these days, but this Blazer hit the market just before four-door SUVs became relatively common. Riders in the tail end of last century didn’t find “climbing in the back” as daunting as today’s passengers. This well-equipped K5 should be simple to maintain and enjoy for years to come. Would you buy this black over red SUV as a “classic” or a daily driver?

Outside looks great…..then you see the under hood picture.
What a letdown – if you can’t clean that up,why not pay a detail
shop to do it for you?

Ain’t that the truth, A-man. My ‘89 was kept as clean as a whistle and I wish I had it back. This one will make the new owner a happy person for years.

When I was a mail man at the Post Office 25 years ago a coworker of mine had this exact truck and he named it “Tom’s Joy”. Had a custom license plate to match. He kept it immaculate. This one is in nice shape and brings back some fun memories. I would definitely enjoy it. I still miss my 91 Bronco which this truck would have competed with. Big fun tanks.

Love the truck, but those red velvet seats really send mixed messages…..

Selling tip, clean up the engine compartment, and don’t leave your smokes out in photos. Buyers will think it’s been smoked in, whether it has, or not.

Buyers, Here is a vehicle worth twice what that Mustang is worth. This one is ready to go, and cheaper too.

I bought one of these new in white with the red interior. Only problem I ever had was the automatic hubs. Very capable off road, but I purchased it as an inclimate weather vehicle. Bone stock it would deliver 16 in rural driving and 22 on the highway. Sadly traded it on a 91 Suburban as we had 2 kids by then. This seems to be a good buy.

These are great trucks and fun to drive. I’ve had three and miss them all. 73, 75 and 79….. Also had an 05 Tahoe that I miss as well. The 05 had 322K on it when I let it go…. This is a very nice example.

That is a cream puff. So weird how bright the red interiors were. My 89 1500 4×4 stepside pickup had a red interior but it was darker.
Mine was a lemon but fun to drive with the 5 spd, when not in the shop.
Last Chevy or GM I’ll buy unless it’s a restoration toy…I drive a 2015 2500 for work and it handles/ rides like a trash truck. Too bad since the 6.0 LS is great.
