No Reserve: 1992 Ford F-250 Custom 4×4 With 38k Original Miles

Walking into your local Ford dealership and driving away in a shiny new F-250 is a tempting thought. However, it won’t be a cheap exercise, and devaluation during the first few years can be enough to wipe the smile from your face. This 1992 F-250 Custom offers a viable alternative. Its presentation and originality suggest it has always been treated respectfully, and with only 38,000 miles on its odometer, it should provide years of reliable service. The seller’s decision to offer it with No Reserve may lift it from tempting to irresistible in the eyes of many, and I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Billy bats for spotting this beauty.

The F-Series has been a staple of Ford’s model range since it introduced the First Generation in 1948. The Ninth Generation graced showroom floors from 1992 until 1997, with this F-250 Custom rolling off the line during the first year. The original owner ordered it in Medium Mocha, and the listing confirms this garage-kept classic has never undergone restoration or repairs. The bed paint shows the typical accumulated scuffs and marks, but there is no evidence of abuse or mistreatment. The exterior is extremely impressive, with the excellent array of close-up shots in the listing revealing no significant flaws or defects. The panels are as straight as an arrow, and there are no signs of rust that might become a future issue. The color-matched cap is a wise addition, providing a secure and weatherproof area to carry a load. Accessing the Pickup could be challenging for those of us with relatively short legs, but the steps on this F-250 should make life easier. The trim and tinted glass are excellent, and the 4×4 rolls on a clean set of factory alloy wheels.

It is no secret that the interior of Pickups like this F-250 can be prone to wear and deterioration. Those used as workhorses are often abused, while off-road adventures can result in mud and other substances staining cloth trim. This F-250 avoided those pitfalls because its first owner protected it with a slipcover on the seat and mats on the floor. Therefore, the original Gray cloth is spotless, and the practical factory vinyl floor mat is free from wear. The dash and pad are spotless, and there are no wheel issues. Someone added an under-dash CB, but I can’t spot any other aftermarket components. It isn’t heavily optioned, so potential buyers don’t receive air conditioning or power windows. However, the original AM/FM radio/cassette player will relieve boredom on long journeys.

The first owner ordered this F-250 with the optional Tow Package, which brought improved engine and transmission cooling and heavier suspension to the table. They also selected the injected 460ci V8, which sends 230hp and 390 ft/lbs of torque to the road via a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Therefore, whether the bed is fully loaded or the new owner hooks a trailer to the back, this F-250 should handle whatever they throw at it effortlessly. Potential buyers can consider it a turnkey proposition, and the included documentation may confirm the seller’s claim that this 4×4 has a genuine 38,000 miles on the clock. How does it drive? The seller says that it is perfect, and feels as good as it did the day it rolled off the line. There is still warm weather in the offing, so delving into the wilderness for immediate off-road adventures is a viable option.

The seller listed this 1992 Ford F-250 Custom 4×4 here on eBay in Tacoma, Washington. Solid bidding action has pushed the price to $10,100, and with no reserve in play, it is days away from finding a new home. Recent sales results suggest the price may double before the hammer falls, and with twenty-one bids already submitted, I believe it is possible. However, the market is sometimes unpredictable, and it may sell for less if the action slows. It could be a bargain if that happens. Therefore, if a 4×4 is on your radar, monitoring this auction could be worthwhile.

460 Ford gets almost same mileage loaded or empty lol.
2 Buddys had em, just like this one. One was a C6 3spd auto, other guy had the 4sp w OD like this one. Awesome trucks.
This one has alot of the HD options checked ✔️ Fantastic rig, with a basic interior pkg. Throw on some manual front hubs and head for the Mountains ⛰️ 🏕 ⛺️ 🎣 🦌 🪵 🔥

As good as it gets, and now at $15k. Bet it goes over 20k. Worth the money. Had one similar and yes, with the 460, it could pull a house.
Thankfully it’s a long bed…don’t get the obsession with short bed trucks

Way over priced for a 460 , this is not a 7.3 power stroker, and it is only a regular cab. It is a nice looking truck, and prices in Washington are crazy.

Lawrence Smith, I guess you could look at this 2 ways. Yeah it’s way on the high end for ’92 Fords. There are lots of others in decent condition for half or less. They would be serviceable, but not as nice as this, if just a serviceable truck is what you want.
Also, would a person want to pay 20k for this pristine truck or 55-60k for a new one which realistically can’t do anything more in the way of work. Heated/cooled seats and mirrors on new trucks are silly. Yes, maybe marginally better mileage on the newer truck but my much newer F250 with 6.2 gas only gets 12-13.
This ’92 is (IMHO only) a great deal. Right priced or overpriced is individual.

Super nice truck. Low miles. Clean undercarriage. This dude kept records, although it would be better to have a service receipt. But WOW anyways !.
Too bad there’s no A/C. Getting a factory A/C for this would be a bit pricey down here in the Sunbelt.

Yes not to mention the heat wave down here. You would melt like frosty the snowman till your hat fell off! Probably a great truck in northern states or Canada

Just like they used to build and buy them. Good truck to pull the trailer, do the chores and go to town later.
