Potent Pontiac: 1994 Firebird Firehawk Formula

While the fourth and final generation of the Pontiac Firebird may not be hailed as a favorite among many F-Body fans, it is simply unfair to say that they didn’t have some great moments now and then.  The fourth-generation cars were produced by GM from 1993 all the way through 2002, which was the end of the road for the Firebird, so they had a good run and are still affordable even in today’s car market.  If you have been looking for a 1990s Firebird and want one with a bit more pizazz than your average bird, this 1994 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk Formula would be well worth taking a look at.  Located in Troy, Michigan, it can be found here on eBay with an asking price of $17,395.

Although when new it cost the buyer over $6000 more than a base Formula, this extra cash got you the Firehawk package.  In 1994, Pontiac only produced a Limited Edition of 500 Formulas with this package.  The story goes that these cars were produced along with the other Firebirds at the GM plant in St. Therese, Quebec but were then transported to the nearby Street Legal Performance (SLP) facility where they received the Firehawk treatment.  The folks at SLP replaced the hood and air intake system with modified parts, which gave the 5.7 liter V8 a few more horsepower.  SLP also tweaked the suspension, added different wheels with 17-inch tires, plus a few other goodies before heading to a Pontiac dealership.

The Firehawk being offered here is #385 of the 500 produced in 1994.  The seller says that the whole car has been gone through with attention being given to all areas to get it into its current top condition.  Judging from the photos, it definitely looks to be in top shape.  About the only thing I noticed was that the front piece doesn’t seem to line up perfectly with the end of the hood, but that was a common problem in those days with many cars and it is so minor on this vehicle I’d just leave it and be happy.  The car also currently has the standard Firebird taillights but comes with one correct taillight.

Things are looking good on the inside, especially for a vehicle with some interior parts that weren’t exactly the best quality to begin with.  The car only has 36,000 miles and those buckets look really inviting.  This Firehawk is also equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and has a serial numbered plate in front of the shifter.

I’m not finding much not to love about this Firebird, plus there’s even a “make offer” option under the buy-it-now button, so this car may be able to be bought for even less than $17,395, which seems very reasonable to me for what you are getting here.  What are your thoughts on this 1994 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk Formula?

The carfax on it shows it has 104,000 miles so likely the odometer has been replaced.

It’s funny how these deceptive sellers include the AutoCheck report in their EBay listing and don’t realize that they are catching themselves in a lie.

And the oh-so-convenient camera angle that hides the odometer completely from view.

Takes just a few clicks to report odometer suspicion on eBay (and yes). This listing deserves it.

Seller has 36 positive feedbacks in the past year and a half, with zero negatives . Hard to believe he has that record by stiffing buyers. Bunch of negative Nancy’s in here.

Are we supposed to just ignore the Carfax and take the seller out of word?

Dave – Yes we are to ignore positive reviews when the Autocheck shows a 68,544 difference in mileage. Also that was in 2010, how many more miles where put on the car before the odometer was change out.
