Sharp Driver! 1967 Buick Sportwagon

Clean and stylish inside and out, this running, driving wagon looks ready for cruising, car shows, and cross-country adventures. The 1967 Buick SportWagon features the always-awesome raised glass roof for extra storage and bragging rights over your neighbor’s steel-roofed ride. Notice how the roof panel seam follows the C-pillar line, accentuating the look of forward motion. A slight forward rake adds the perfect stance and should help keep things at least level even when loaded for that trip to the Grand Canyon. Check out more pictures and details here on Craigslist where this burly Buick can be yours for $25,500. Thanks to reader Curvette for the tip on this classy classic located outside Seattle, Washington.

The gold interior would be doubly amazing with Riviera Gold Iridcsent or Gold Mist Iridescent on the body, but everything looks tidy and correct, though not perfect. More pictures would be nice, but the seller offers videos to interested buyers.

Aftermarket wheels make this SportWagon extra sporty. Lowering springs won’t suit everyone’s tastes, but can be swapped out for stock easily enough. The imitation wood-grain looks fine from this distance. Notice Buick’s hallmark ventiports on the front fender, manifested as three elongated rectangles on this ’67.

Someone upgraded from the SportWagon’s standard 340-2 to the optional 340-4, a 340 cid (5.6L) V8 with four-barrel, but that got you more than a bigger carburetor. The 340-4 also got a big bump in compression ratio, 10.25:1  instead of 9.0:1 on the 340-2. Premium fuel, only, please! Thanks to the library of brochures at lov2xlr8 for some details. Buicks of the era were known for their velvety torque and this one makes 365 lb-ft (gross) complimenting its 260 HP. With the standard 3.23:1 rear axle gears, this wagon should feel stout in traffic, though 70 MPH will see the 340 turning about 2600 RPM. This seller states this Buick “runs great, drives well, and everything works.” Do you have room in your garage for this classic ’60s people mover?
