However, regardless of one’s particular viewpoint, this is certainly a most unusual creation that’s affordable, fast, and will undoubtedly trigger at least 9 out of 10 heads to turn every time you pass that ratio of other automobiles on the road. The rear section apparently started out as a Corvette, but I’m almost certain the lights in the back are from a 1973 or 1974 Nova, and it’s pretty cool that the license plate section has been recessed inward. There are some fun touches everywhere you look, including shaved door handles and substantial flaring around the rear wheel arches. I’ve long been a fan of T-Tops as well, which are part of the roof here, but I’m having trouble identifying what specific parts were used to fabricate the front end, or if it’s completely tailor-made.
Some of the best features on this one are mechanical, including the engine, transmission, and rear-end. The seller tells us that a new 454 big block resides under the hood, with aluminum heads and headers among the components present. There’s also a heavy-duty Turbo 400 automatic, and both the engine and transmission are said to be practically new, with only about 500 miles of operation reported. Out back is a 9-inch Ford rear end, with ladder bars and a 20-gallon fuel cell in the trunk also contributing to the cool factor of this build.
We only get to see this one still photo of the interior, but the seller’s video shows a bit more, and it’s apparent that numerous custom touches have been added inside as well. Some of these include an aftermarket steering wheel and gauges, plus a rollbar has been installed in what was once the rear passenger area, as this one is now a two-seater. The owner says a lot more has been invested here in parts alone than the asking price, and if this is the sort of street machine you’re after, I’m thinking this Camarovette is probably a really good deal.
