However, regardless of one’s particular viewpoint, this is certainly a most unusual creation that’s affordable, fast, and will undoubtedly trigger at least 9 out of 10 heads to turn every time you pass that ratio of other automobiles on the road. This 1973 F-Body with a ‘Vette treatment is in Webb City, Missouri, and has already been reduced from $18,000 to $15,000, yet hasn’t attracted a buyer so far during the 12 weeks it’s been available here on Facebook Marketplace. The rear section apparently started out as a Corvette, but I’m almost certain the lights in the back are from a 1973 or 1974 Nova, and it’s pretty cool that the license plate section has been recessed inward. There are some fun touches everywhere you look, including shaved door handles and substantial flaring around the rear wheel arches. I’ve long been a fan of T-Tops as well, which are part of the roof here, but I’m having trouble identifying what specific parts were used to fabricate the front end, or if it’s completely tailor-made.
Some of the best features on this one are mechanical, including the engine, transmission, and rear-end. The seller tells us that a new 454 big block resides under the hood, with aluminum heads and headers among the components present. There’s also a heavy-duty Turbo 400 automatic, and both the engine and transmission are said to be practically new, with only about 500 miles of operation reported. Out back is a 9-inch Ford rear end, with ladder bars and a 20-gallon fuel cell in the trunk also contributing to the cool factor of this build.
We only get to see this one still photo of the interior, but the seller’s video shows a bit more, and it’s apparent that numerous custom touches have been added inside as well. Some of these include an aftermarket steering wheel and gauges, plus a rollbar has been installed in what was once the rear passenger area, as this one is now a two-seater. The owner says a lot more has been invested here in parts alone than the asking price, and if this is the sort of street machine you’re after, I’m thinking this Camarovette is probably a really good deal. Did they really butcher a 73 Camaro to build this ugly thing? I had a new 73 rs z28 with a four speed. It looked excellent from the factory. No customization required. I added Hooker headers to mine but not much else. This car is Disasters #?

My guess is the Camaro was rear ended and this was a way to save it. Personally, I love the rear end, the front not so much.

As to the remarks made after those head turns though the new owner might not always appreciate what was really said.
I like it! I’m not a fan of the graphics. But it is interesting and not ugly in my view. (Although the front end feels like they stopped in the middle of the redo) I probably would have done something different in the headlamp area. But overall I think it looks good. Definitely spent some money on it. And if I were to own it I woyld install a 4L60/80 transmission to have a nice overdrive gear for cruising the highways. Also I would lower it for a better stance.

When you hear the word investment and cars in the same sentence, and it’s not an Italian car, Aston, Cobra, or Duesenberg, grab your wallet tight.
Even if the performance parts were mint-in-box, still in the garage and on the shelf, the owner would be be lucky to get half of the retail value on the resale market. Once you put them on a vehicle and run races with them, then that goes to about 10%.
Put a whole resto-mod together at a fancy custom shop and see how your investment goes. Your $500k resto-mod sells for $225,000 at Mecum, if it’s really cool.

Having owned two 1973 Corvettes, the first word that comes to mind on this thing is “hideous”. I would interpret “at 12 weeks with no buyer” to mean there are others who would have similar feelings about this thing. Maybe someone will buy it and sell the good parts.
Reminds me off the old KAR manufacturing that made the VW beetle Camaro kit.
I’m surprised so many people are negative about this. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time and the price is fantastic.
Many high profile builds have had their demise one way or another. Salvage yards get them all the time and one always wonders what happened. Then something like this survives. Why?
Using the Nova tail lights gives this a Big-Chevy vibe. Wood grained console is nice, too.

Personally I can easily believe the seller spent WAY more than the asking price just in part, it looks like a fortune was spent. To me vehicles like this are best suited for car museums/shows rather than personal ownership. Or maybe even rented to film crews?
To my eyes it’s definitely ugly as all get out, but I could see people getting a kick out of it in a car museum. Would work for cars and coffee type events too, but there’d be no money in that. Just pride of ownership.. :D

From the firewall back, I kinda like it. It’s got a cool 70’s custom vibe. But that front end and grille just kills it! Ug-leeee!
As I read the headline to this article I had a sudden flash back memory to a night 45 years ago. I was standing out side a dance club Waiting to go in when a guy pulls up in a car that looked familiar and yet wasn’t. The front of the car was definitely a 67-68 Camaro front end but it had been expertly grafted to what i believe was a 68 corvette convertible body. It looked so right. Ive never seen anything else like it Until today. But the one i saw looked better.
I’m not a GM fan but I like this. It is a good start on what some one else can put a few touches and paint on and have a unique car on the show field versus the 9 million other Corvettes and 25,000 Camaros.
Of all the strangeness (and there is plenty) I find what must be a very last minute piece of wood under the shifter the strangest of all. It looks so out of place with all the other…….stuff.
That hunk’o’ wood is to cover up the butchered console from the shifter install. Should have just painted it black!
