Tons of Scouts…and a Few Cool Jeeps

In Southwest Little Rock, Arkansas lies a treasure trove of cool vintage International Scouts. Based on the ad found here on Craigslist, it sounds like they probably have a Scout project and the parts to finish it for you. There appear to be models of any condition and configuration. Whether you’re looking for an early sixties half-cab to a late seventies Traveltop. Check out a few of the collection here and thanks to Chuck F. for the tip on these cool Binders.

The Scouts in this collection range from this baby blue wagon from the late 1970s to this dedicated off-roader. The similarities between vintage Scouts and Broncos are obvious. Unfortunately, for Scout lovers, Broncos are supported much better by the aftermarket than Internationals are. For those diehards who want to build a Scout, sources like this are invaluable.

How about this half-cab from the early sixties? Unlike Broncos of the same era, Scouts have an angle to their doors, which makes for a nice look whether they are on or off. Unfortunately, this one looks like rust has set in along the rockers and fenders. Hopefully, it isn’t too bad. The patina looks really nice…it would be great to keep this one original without much metal work.

Here’s a nice red and white Traveler. The rust doesn’t look too bad. This one appears to be a great project for someone. How about new white wagon-wheel wheels to compliment the white stripes? Yes, please!

Here’s one of the cool non-Scout vehicles that are in the ad. FC (Forward-Control) Jeeps are becoming highly collectible after the debut of a wild one at SEMA a few years ago. These unique rides make some really cool off-road machines.

Here’s an older model basic Scout with the top removed. Without window frames (unlike a Bronco) Scouts are really cool looking just by taking the hard top off. Overall, what do you think of this collection? Are there some diamonds in the rough that you would rescue?

Is the price of rust by the pound or the amount of acreage?

I like the name of the sponsor/builder for the off roader: “Why Not Fabrication”. Must be a competitor of “Hold My Beer Welding”.

My favs were the B I G models. The quad cab p/u seems immense w/a 3 or 4 inch lift / bigger wheel. Here’s some ‘convenience vehicles’.
But, as said above – they’re all on trailers headin out…
BTW my early bronk has removable window frames as did the others (1st 3 or 4 yrs). Lots drill out the spot welds in last 7yrs & use bolts for ‘pull out’ too.

More likely they are on trailers on their way to become a part of this collection that is now for sale.
