It has been a great year and we have all shared some amazing finds. We know there were many discoveries made over the last which we don’t even know about, but from the ones that we do, here are some of our favorites:
10. 300SL Roadster Garage Find – Sure it’s not a Gullwing, but roadsters are easier to drive and they are going up in value. This survivor proved that point by selling for a record price at Pebble Beach.
9. Discount Citroen SM – A reader tipped us off to a friend’s Citroen which had been tucked away in their garage for years. It doesn’t get much better than a quirky French car with a Maserati engine and an asking price of $1,500.
8. Bugatti Barn Find – Just when everyone thought that every hidden Bugatti had been found, this one shows up and gives us all a little hope.
7. Backyard Bond – Finding rusty old cars in a field is not a hard task, but when was the last time you stumbled across an Aston Martin DB2/4 in someone’s backyard?
6. Bavarian Barn Find – After being rescued by a reader, this BMW 200tii turned out to be in amazing condition. The interior is like new and the exterior has some great patina.
5. Instant Museum – Herbie is an automotive icon and an authentic movie car would make a great addition to any collection. But, how about buying a whole herd of Herbies along with a few of his friends?
4. One Owner Vette – The photos of this red Corvette sitting in a red barn really made it stand out. So much in fact, that one of our readers had to have it.
3. Barn Bond – Gullwing Motor Cars dug up quite a few Aston Martin barn finds this past year. This DB4 sure created a stir. Some were doubtful of its value, but were convinced in the end that this was a good one.
2. Mystery Motion Camaro – We never confirmed if it was real or not, but we have a feeling it was the real deal. Rare and fast. This is what American Muscle is all about.
1. Italian Storage Unit Find – Two Ferraris and one Maserati. All three were low mileage and all three ended up selling for big bucks at auction. We witnessed these beauties in the flesh and it was an amazing sight to behold.
Wow, this really was a great year! It has been a fun trip and we have loved getting to know all of you. Hopefully this coming year will yield some more amazing finds! Are there any discoveries we have missed? Which are your favorites?
