12k Original Kilometers: 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

Although I wouldn’t recommend train tracks as a location for a photo shoot, they do provide a nice Country setting for this 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL, which is located in the city of Coquitlam in British Columbia, Canada.  With the strong condition this Olds remains in, it would present well no matter where the pictures were taken, with the sparse amount of travel this one’s seen certainly a contributing factor to its outer beauty.  A sincere Barn Finds thank you goes out to reader Curvette, who found this one here on Craigslist and kindly sent us the tip!  The price is listed as $15,000, but it’s not specified if that’s US or Canadian dollars.

What makes the odometer here even more impressive is that the seller says its reading is in kilometers, so the 12,313 number would only equal 7,650 miles in the United States, and that’s a very low amount for a 35-year-old vehicle.  No backstory about previous ownership is given, so we don’t know why this sedan was used so infrequently, but the engine bay is still about as clean as it would have been back in 1990.  The 3.1-liter V6 has a factory horsepower rating of 135, and since these are typically considered family-oriented cars, that’s probably enough strength to satisfy most drivers.

As nice as the exterior appears overall, the seller is honest in revealing that the body isn’t quite perfect.  The passenger side rear door has some long but light dents, along with a 3-inch dent on the driver’s quarter panel.  On the hood, another dent is present, which the owner mentions is about the size of a toonie.  I didn’t know what a toonie was either, but a visit to an online dictionary defined it as a Canadian two-dollar coin, which is about 1 inch wide.  The red and silver is an attractive combo, with the paint appearing to still be glossy and well-preserved.

Inside, it’s hard to find a visible flaw anywhere, with the horn being the only component mentioned as non-functional.  This one’s also said to be loaded, including power windows and seats, with the comfort level compared to sitting on a couch.  The seller also states that he’ll reward your efforts with a thousand dollars if you find him a buyer, so if you happen to know anyone who may be interested in a GM sedan from this era, it’s probably worth turning them onto this one.  Is this 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL worth the asking price?

Maybe it stalled out on the tracks and they gave up on it. Might as well snap a few photos and seem if someone rescues it.

The Approx new car price of these were around 16k. Yeah, its got a few miles on it, but it seems the value hasnt risen on this one much, if its accurate. It makes you wonder why someone would be so light on the mileage.

I dont know. The value is in the eye of the beholder and every dog usually has its day, but it is food for thought.

all they needed to do was push the E/M button for miles. neat but these were not that great new. i did a lot of warranty work on these when new. good drivetrain though. seller has to find somebody that really wants it for that price

Good thing it didn’t have many miles on it! No telling how many more scratches & dents it would have on it!

Well the good thing is it’s not a 2.8, otherwise it would not get out of the way of the train in time. Dangerously sluggish, thankfully the 2.8L was gone by the 90’s.

As a teen I worked at a Chev-Olds dealer when these were new. Quite comfortable to drive in and 90% of the customers that drove them at the time were men over 55. Clean ride but priced double where I think it should be. Maybe to someone it’s worth it.
