Demand for muscle cars (and pony cars built as muscle cars) had fallen way off as the 1970s rolled out. Plymouth couldn’t muster 12,000 copies of the Barracuda in 1974, so they gave up on the genre (as did Dodge with the Challenger). This ’74 ‘Cuda 360 was purchased when new by the dealer who saw it as an investment – and the odometer has only seen 62 miles since then. As new as a 52-year-old car can get, this black beauty is in Springfield, Oregon, and is available here on eBay via the Graveyard Carz guy. The starting bid is $100,000, which has found one bidder, but that’s below Mark Worman’s reserve.
Brut power left the Barracuda camp after 1971. In 1972, gone were the 383, 440 and Hemi V8s. The performance ‘Cuda model soon became available with a 318 cubic inch V8, with the 340 optional through 1973. That’s when Chrysler discontinued that engine, switching to a 360. Barracuda production numbers for 1974 numbered just 11,734 cars, of which only 1,191 were ‘Cuda 360s. 761 of these were with an automatic transmission, so the seller’s car could be one of just a handful with the paint choice and its optional equipment.
This ‘Cuda surely is as nice as they come, except for a similar 6-mile example the seller also has here on eBay. This car is finished in its original TX9 Black and was supposed to have an all-black interior. The factory sent him/her the car with white seats, so the dealer ordered the correct black ones but never installed them. They come with the sale, wrapped up in plastic to protect them. This car has been in storage all its life and probably only driven around the yard, though it does have license plates.
Documents include the build sheet and window sticker still glued to the door glass. It sports a black vinyl top, which looks great with the white stripe down the sides. It comes with power accessories and working factory air conditioning. This is a rare and running artifact for which there can’t be many (except for one) that are left.
Yes this has 62 miles, they have another of the same with just 6 miles!! I am only looking for something with less than 5 miles.
I would pay the original sticker price. Think I should email Mark?

do either of these two Mark Worman’s Mopars still smell like a new car when the door gets opened? Would be awesome if they did but does that smell continue on indefinitely if the car remains either new or almost new into near eternity?
I’m a huge Mopar head and have owned over 200 cars, mostly Mopar but the 72-74 Barracudas and Challengers have hideous front and rear ends. From the beauty of the 70 and 71’s they gave us this crap. They are almost as bad as the DMC 12. Marky better take that 100K before the guy backs out
