Automotive Potpourri: Chevrolets and Fords

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

For the past 15 years, four cars have been sitting in a dry warehouse waiting for what comes next. They consist of two 1967 Ford Mustangs, a 1980 Chevy Corvette, and a 1986 Chevy Camaro Z28. They’re in a range of stages of completeness and/or condition and are considered legally abandoned by the Virginia DMV. The seller likely took control of the property and wants these vehicles gone. Located in Arrington, Virginia, this quartet of automobiles is available as a package deal for $8,500 OBO here on Facebook Marketplace.

Does this sound like a good deal? Maybe, if you can work around the fact that you may have to take more than you want and have to accept bills of sale backed up by the VSA 17A forms needed to apply for new titles. So, if you’re interested in just the pair of Mustangs, for example, you’ll also get a ‘Vette and a Camaro that perhaps you can resell. If you’re only looking for parts, then you should move on as the seller is not going to piecemeal the sale of this lot.

Ford Mustangs

Both are from 1967 and one of them appears to be missing its front clip (due to an accident?). The orange one looks stock while the blue one appears to have had some mods. But what’s under the hoods of these vehicles? Inline-sixes, V8s, or perhaps nothing at all? The seller suggests there’s enough here to make one good car out of two.

Chevrolets

The Corvette needs an engine and some TLC. The Camaro is a stalled restoration that we’re told ran when the project ceased to make progress. There is a whole collection of parts, performance and otherwise, that may be enough to revive all of the automobiles – or maybe none of them. You may want to make a road trip to the seller’s warehouse to inspect what’s there before making a firm commitment. Thanks for the cool tip, Chuck Foster!

What an ignorant comment. Perhaps the seller bought the property and isn’t a car guy and just wants them gone? I can’t believe people post comments like this seriously.

This seller will absolutely get $8,500 for the package of four cars. If they were close to me I’d be loading them up now instead of wasting my time correcting you.

All of these are in restorable condition, and if you can get a doghouse on the stang and get them all running you’d get at least $30K or more for the 4. There are engine parts all around these on the table and it’s a good bet they came from within these cars. More often than not, it’s not the car’s fault nor the seller that they’re found in this condition. Pull em out, dust em off, roll your sleeves up and get to work. If I showed you a pic of the 79 C3 before I started on it, you’d understand what I am saying.

This is the beginning when I had just dropped the ZZ4 crate engine in. The frame and birdcage was perfect. It had 1 seat and body was rough. But it’s where I started.

All new interior including glass, console and door panels. The seats are from an 82 as they are more padded.

This is a rolling example of why you no longer crush them! Do I have a lotta money in it? YES! But there’s not another one like it.
