When buying a car, documentation builds trust in the seller and provides the information you need to make an informed financial decision. This 1970 Dodge Challenger has documentation in spades. It includes the core ownership paperwork, plus restoration records, parts receipts, and even 2010 MoPar Nationals judging scores. We are told that some of the judging deductions have been corrected over the years. This beautiful example of Dodge muscle is available here on Bring a Trailer with a current bid of $81,000 and only 6 days left. Thanks to Curvette for this great tip!
The heart of this R/T is the 440 cubic-inch Six Pack engine. In 1970, it had the highest-output 440 available, with its three two-barrel Holley carburetors producing 390 bhp at 4,700 RPM and a whopping 490 ft.-lbs. of torque at 3,200 RPM. This engine was rebuilt in 2009 with a stroker kit, a flat-tappet hydraulic cam, Hy-lift Johnson lifters, and Hughes valve springs. The exhaust system, cast-iron exhaust manifolds, and fuel lines were also replaced. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission operated by the revered Pisto-grip shifter.
The gorgeous black paint is set off by the full white vinyl top and white interior. The interior pictures make it look like this Challenger just came off the showroom floor. No item, it appears, has been overlooked. It has a woodgrain steering wheel and the original Rallye gauges, rebuilt in 2008. It also has a 150-mph speedometer, an 8,000 RPM Tachometer, clock, fuel level, coolant temp, alternator, and oil pressure gauges. The odometer reads just 15,000 miles. The detail extends to the trunk, where the space-saver tire, correct inflator canister, and bumper jack reside.
Anyone looking at the 250-plus pictures should be able to tell this is one of the very few beautifully restored 1970 Challengers. Market trends recently show sales in the $70,000 to $120,000 range for well-documented Six Packs. With this R/T’s provenance, you can see that it should command the upper end of that spectrum. For the Mopar collector or anyone who appreciates 1970s Chrysler muscle, this would be a car for the collection. Can you see it in your garage?

Interesting article and comments from BAT regarding originality.. Whatever the facts may be… this is one stunner, and sure to be a runner. 🏁
Nice!
Nice car. Great color combination, I’m a fan of 4spd’s without consoles. The only thing that would make it better is a Shaker.
This will be expensive for a reason.

Seeing this stunning ’70 Challenger my favorite car, definitely got my attention. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it hits $120,000 and goes beyond that. I know if it had a 426 Hemi, it would probably get at least $175,000+. I would just be happy to have one that was clean enough as a daily driver. GLWA!
By the way Steve, I absolutely agree with you. I would rather have it in a B-5 blue though. I would have gave you a like but I still can’t get it to respond. Does anyone have a solution to this?
