It brought together whatever parts were available and cheap, creating cars with a distinctive appearance and above-average performance. Every car was a compromise, and it was common to find Fords with GM powerplants as a means to an end. This 1932 Ford Coupe carries many of the hallmarks of the breed, with its builder removing the fenders, hood, and most of the exterior trim. It gives the car a bare-bones look, lowering weight to improve performance. The seller didn’t apply paint to its laser-straight panels, preferring the aged look. That doesn’t mean it must remain in this form, as there is scope for personalization if the buyer chooses their preferred paint shade. The builder remained faithful to the Blue-Oval when creating this classic, bolting a 239ci “59AB” flathead V8 into the engine bay. It features Edmunds aluminum cylinder heads, an upgraded intake and dual carburetors, and an open exhaust that should sound pretty tough. The power output is unclear, but it should be more than the 100hp this flathead produced when it was shiny and new. The seller upgraded the electrical system with a PowerGen alternator to improve reliability. An MDL T-5 manual transmission sends the power to a 4.11 rear end, while the brakes are upgraded hydraulics from a Lincoln. The rear-end ratio is quite short, ensuring rapid acceleration. However, with the five-speed featuring an overdrive ratio, open-road cruising should be relatively relaxed. Although not stated specifically, it appears the Coupe is a turnkey proposition.
There are no hard-and-fast rules when creating a Hot Rod, as reflected in this Ford’s interior. The interior steel carries surface corrosion matching the exterior, while the only upholstery is the seat cushions. It features an aluminum bomber-style seat and matching door trims, while the dash houses a speedometer and a few gauges to monitor the flathead’s health. It’s as basic as it could be, but it’s another area that could be changed if the new owner wishes to make their mark.
There is no sugar-coating the fact that at $58,000, this 1932 Ford 3-Window Coupe isn’t cheap. When I saw the first picture I thought it was one I see here west central Ohio in the Dayton Ohio area. The interior is more original than this one but, They would be easily confused otherwise. The one thing I like on the Ohio car is that there is a hand print in oily grease on the drivers door that makes it look like someone was under the car and used their hand to pull themselves out. It’s been there for the last several years so I’m sure it’s part of the presentation. It makes the car look authentic. Very cool car.

Funny, I just read an article about it… Apparently, yes, nobody wanted to but it back then. It stayed in the prop car collection for about 15 years until an employee bought it for like 1500 bucks…

Not legal to drive in Washington State. Lack of fenders limits you to “fair weather”, and hard pavement. No hood is just trolling for tickets. No thanks.

58,000 for something that’s not even knew looking the frame is rusted and even the engine components look like they have wear and tear they’re not new I can tell you that or it would be sparkly and I am full aware of the rat rod look but some of those components should not be looking like that, definitely not worth $58,000 maybe $20000
I love this listing as much because of the comments more than just about anything else. I don’t know who the seller is, but I would bet I could make a good guess just because of the car and location. This car isn’t listed for all Nay Sayers who can expound on how stupid the price is and nobody in their right mind would pay that. The seller doesn’t care about your opinion. He is searching for the buyer that wants to build the best 32 3-Window he can find. He dosen’t want reproduction parts. He wants it to be the best of the best and money is not the deciding factor. Is he out there? Who knows he might be!

Lots of these guys are simply nuts behind what they think these cars are worth.
