The Grand Am nameplate dates to the early 1970s and was applied to a variety of Pontiac vehicles through 2005. For the fourth generation (1992-98), it was a compact car based on the GM N-body platform that used a transversely mounted engine and front-wheel drive (like the Buick Skylark and others). This low-mileage example looks as nice as they come for 30+ years and may need nothing but a new home. While an inline-4 was standard in the 1990s Grand Am, a V6 was optional, and the one in the seller’s car should be 3.3 liters, producing 160 hp with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Much of the suspension and brake components were shared with the Chevrolet Corsica as GM divisions continued to share more and more bits and pieces for economies of scale. The Grand Am was still a popular ride in 1995, and Pontiac sold nearly 288,000 of them as coupes and sedans.
This dark green beauty with a tan and black interior has had only one prior owner. And said owner only managed 65,000 miles in 31 years. The car remains in excellent condition as Grandma took care of it and kept it garaged when not in use. The Poncho looks like it just emerged from a time capsule and is old school in many ways, such as the use of manual windows (would today’s youth know how to work them?) and plastic wheel covers.
The only thing it needed was working factory air conditioning, and the seller has taken care of that. The rest of the car may have been “professionally serviced,” but what does that mean besides an oil change? This may not be a classic in some eyes, but the age points that way, and the car’s condition may be hard to replicate for under six grand.

A buddy of mine was selling cars during this time frame and he sold truckloads of these. My wife and I were in the market and he really wanted to sell us one. We opted for another Honda instead. Like the interior/exterior color combo here.

My company had a fleet of about 12 of these things and they were sold off around 200k miles
I owned a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am sedan. It was equipped with the optional 3.1 litre V-6 engine. Mine didn’t have the boy racer spoiler on the trunk.
Moms, who also owned the yellow and green 258 CID 1971 Hornet SST that I mentioned in another post, also had a ’95 Grand Am from 1995 until 2000 or so. Only hers was a white GT. It is definitely her week on Barnfinds!!
By 1995 the optional engine was the 3100 V6, which means it should also have a 4-speed auto.
Had an 94 Grand Am, and an 96 Grand Am. Two very good cars and super fun to drive.
nice clean ride. i say worth 5k. at least it has a good v6 in it. if it were closer i would put my wife it.

My wife had two Grand am’s. The first one was a 1996 we bought in 97. It had the quad 4. It didn’t have a lot of power but was a very dependable and comfortable car. A little over 300,000 miles the air went out and the tires were shot. She sold it to her boss who wanted it for her son. He immediately replaced the radio with something of his liking. I told her the tires had about 100,00 miles on them. She said they were ok the wires were not showing yet. Shortly afterwards we saw the car at Sam’s Club with the donut spare on. We than bought a 97 with the v6 and got over 300,000 on it as well. We ended up giving it to her niece who eventually tore the tranny out of it and junked the car. Both Grand Ams were reliable comfortable cars that we made a lot of trips in.
We had a93 se coupe I like that one better than my 2000 gt coupe It was more comfortable to drive. seats were softer for a commuter car.We still have the 2000 gt coupe. 90 g on the clock ..
This could make an enjoyable daily driver. You might even ask yourself why you need anything more.
Have the 95 grand am gt, 4 door, 6 cyl, automatic in floor, with low profile wheel and rims…has rear spoiler on trunk deck, bright red…original engine went 305k..still have the car.
