Beginning in 1964, the Tempest/LeMans/GTO trio would represent Pontiac in the growing mid-size automobile field. The rear-wheel-drive A-body platform would serve the Poncho well for the next 23 years, replaced by front-wheel-drive in 1988. The seller has a survivor-quality LeMans convertible from 1967 that has ample patina yet runs well. You could drive it as it is for a while, but eventually some body and frame work will have to be done. Located in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, the survivor drop-top is available here on eBay where the current bid is $4,938, and the auction is unencumbered by a reserve.
After being treated to a restyle in 1966, the 1967 intermediate Pontiacs were hard to tell from the year before. The taillights were different, but the vehicles were otherwise similar. Though an interesting OHC inline-6 was standard, the entry-level V8 displaced 326 cubic inches with a 2-barrel carburetor, which is how this one was assembled. Said V8 is paired with a 2-speed automatic transmission.
Pontiac built nearly 105,000 LeMans across all body styles in ‘67. Just under 10% or 10,000 were convertibles like this one, so these ragtops are getting to be scarce after nearly 60 years. This Pontiac has traveled more than 100,000 miles and has its original paint and interior. The latter is well worn and loaded with patina, and the body panels are dented and dinged. Yet the interior is in good, but not perfect, condition. Portions of the Light Green Metallic finish might shine up unless you choose to restore and repaint the vehicle.
If you purchase the car, your body shop is going to have its work cut out for them. Patches may work, or replacements may be better in some cases. The seller has had the car for about five years and has driven it in the condition you see it. When you come to pick up the Pontiac, you won’t get to keep its stereo or fancy wheels. The latter will be replaced with steel rims and wheel covers by the seller. You may need to do some mechanical tinkering, but the cosmetics are the principal concerns.
For $5000.00, this could be a real fun project!

Looks like a great candidate for a father/son or family project. I only hope it stays a LeMans, though I suspect this will sadly end up as another GTO “tribute” car.
looks decent. l would lose those firebird wheels and put a set of rally 1s on it and lose the stupid radio under the dash leave it as is. make safe and reliable then cruise it.
The ad says the wheels and stereo are not included in the sale. But yeah, they would be the first thing to go. The way it sits, dog dish caps would be perfect.

Yup! You could get a GTO equipped the same way. This would be a great starting point for a project. If not already loaded with projects this would definitely be on my radar!
GTO equipped the same way? 2 speed with a Dual Gate…. uh, no. The base GTO automatic was the TH400. If you ordered a console the Dual Gate was part of the option.

Maybe not in 1967, but GTO came with 2 speed in 1966. I had one. AND it had a dual gate shifter.
Yes, auto trans was 2sp for 1964-1966, then 3sp for 1967 onwards. FYI the factory dual-gate was only available for 1967 and 1968, and offered exclusively on the GTO. Any other dual-gate install would have been post-factory.
