Same Owner 57 Years: 1967 Plymouth Belvedere

The Belvedere officially became a mid-size car in 1965 when the C-body platform finally returned for the full-size Fury. Two trim levels were offered, Belvedere I and II, with the latter being a step up in creature comforts (unless you opted for the new Satellite). The same little old lady owned this 1967 Belvedere II for 57 years (1967 to 2024), and it spent most of its time in a garage. Its condition is excellent for the age; the Mopar is in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is available here on eBay. The current bid is $4,050 with no reserve.

This car has an interesting story. The original owner bought it at the hometown Plymouth dealer around Christmas of 1966, and it stayed in the area throughout her ownership. She eventually retired to a nursing home at age 100 and sold the car. She and it are said to still be flourishing. No kids were involved, just a dog who wore the back seat out slightly, even though it has those grandma see-through covers on it. The rest of the interior seems to be in fine shape.

Rust doesn’t seem to be an issue, and the copper paint looks to be original (though maybe a little faded). At 52,000 miles, this Plymouth should have lots of life left, including the original 318 cubic inch V8 and TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Everything works as it should, and the dashboard lights are as bright as they can be. As far as turnkey automobiles are concerned, the seller believes this Belvedere can’t be beat.

All sorts of goodies come with the sale, such as the original owner’s manual, fender tag, Certi-Card issued by Chrysler, and even the factory spare tire, which has never been used. As long as the number of doors doesn’t turn you off, this Plymouth should be an excellent example of how automobiles were done in the 1960s.
