The Geo Metro was a subcompact built by Suzuki and sold in the U.S. through a partnership with General Motors. After the Geo nameplate folded, it was also marketed as a Chevrolet. I recall these as being solid little econoboxes, which may have led the seller to merge two of them together from 1996 to form a one-of-a-kind ride. The seller says it drives great, but we’re unsure if you can pilot it from both ends. Located in Thomasville, North Carolina, this oddball is surely going to attract attention and is available here on Facebook Marketplace for $5,000.
Under the badging, the Geo Metro was a Suzuki Cultus and enjoyed a 12-year run from 1989 to 2001 (after 1997 badged as a Chevy). As the Cultus evolved, so did the Metro, and a variety of body styles were offered, even a convertible. As a result of the GM/Suzuki partnership, Geos sold in the U.S. were built in Canada rather than Japan.
The seller doesn’t get into the why or how this oddball ride came to be. We’re told it was well-built, and crab walks when you drive it (?). The colors are red, white, and blue depending on what angle you look at the four-door machine. We only see one interior photo, which implies you can only drive it from the white end. Yet the seller also says the “steering wheel locks and unlocks for single or two-person driving.”
One thing not addressed is the safety angle. If you’re zipping down the road with one of the front ends pointed at the traffic behind you, aren’t you going to scare the hell out of someone? And possibly cause them to overreact and have an accident? The car has been listed for sale for two months, so just the right kind of buyer has yet to take the plunge. It’s a neat idea. But Russ is right….. If I saw headlights coming at me, I’d be deeply concerned, and my brake pedal would feel mighty comfortable in that moment.

If someone wants this to put in front of their business to attract attention, so be it. But given the confusion and panic it would cause, it should not be allowed on public roads.
There’s an old Zephyr filling station on the former Michigan M-21 highway in Lapeer County just north of Attica that has a double ended gray and black Ford Taurus out front. It definitely gets a lot of double takes.

This shit always reminds me of an old CHiPs episode where a couple of dingbats wreak all kinds of havoc driving a Pushmi-Pullyu 1979 Mercury Cougar.
I think it’s cool myself but wouldn’t take it on the interstate. Too bad they don’t show an engine or engines shot or mention anything about how it runs. Would be fun tooling around town in it though!
It appears to me that ” the blue end” is normally traveling backwards. The two inner lights appear (at least to me) to be red for tail and brakes. Since I’m a front wheel drive crazy person. It could be fun and interesting to do reverse spins with the other end steering in different positions! Also a person in the rear “drivers (former) seat would get a whole new respective of life in a reverse spin! I wonder how they/do they? have an operating parking brake. I believe that these normally have rear drum brakes. Does it actually have 2 drive trains? Or just 2 steering setups. I’m sure the rear “passenger?” sitting with the steering wheel in their hands would have a quite entertaining ride viewing all the other drivers’ reactions! I’m sure there would be waves and smiles and a few startled middle finger waves. A separate switch for the driver to actuate the “rear” high beams for those jerks that ride your bumper with their high beams on! The possibilities with a fun loving rear copilot could provide many side splitting laughter possibilities!
Almost makes me want to buy it for the laughs. But trying to find someone as crazy as me might be difficult!

This thing reminds me of why I dislike first-gen Boxsters.
By the time this was new Suzuki had very little to do woth it.
This was built in Canada at the CAMI Automotive plant.
I had both Chevy Sprints and Geo Metros for delivery cars and there was a big difference.
The Sprint was a pretty good well made cheap car. The Metro was typical American made car, not that good. It was cheap and easy to tell.
Take a crappy car to begin with and make it even worse. The question is, why? It certainly wouldn’t get any positive comments at the weekly cruise I go to.
The seller missed a huge opportunity – a driving video!
Seller says that there is a 2 driver mode and that it crabwalks. That would have been really fun to see!
