14K Mile Convertible! 1995 Chevrolet Corvette

I was on the fence with the earliest C4 (1984-1996) Corvettes. While a noted technical improvement over the late C3’s (1968-1982), the styling left me high and dry. That is until about 1990 when the visuals started to pull together and flow perfectly with the slowly returning power curve. By 1995, admittedly late in the C4’s life cycle, the ‘Vette had it all going on just like our subject car, a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. It is located in Bohemia, New York, and is available, here on Barn Finds Classifieds and here on eBay for $25,999.

I can’t think of a better color for a ’95 Corvette than code 75 Dark Red Metallic. I encounter many late C4s, so adorned, and this hue and the car were just made for each other IMHO. This is a 14K mile, documented example, and the seller states that “The car was also recently ceramic coated and paint corrected”. I’m not certain what that entails but it makes this Chevy show as new. The contrasting tan cloth top is claimed to be in the same stellar condition as the body. The seller adds, “I love this car but need room for my next dream…I am not a dealer, just a car guy, no disappointments here, no stories“.

Unfortunately, there is no reference, or image, of this Corvette’s powerplant, included. It is, or should be, a 300 net HP, 350 CI V8 operating through a four-speed automatic transmission. It is claimed to “drive amazing(ly)” and has recently had a water pump replacement and an oil change.

Matching the folding convertible top is tan leather upholstery and interior fittings combined with contrasting black highlights such as the center console, door panel trim, and dashboard. With such low mileage, the interior shows as new, especially encouraging with a convertible, and that’s exactly what one would expect. The A/C is stated to be “ice cold” and all of the gauges and switchgear work as intended.

Advertised as always maintained and garage kept, this Corvette has clearly been gently driven and well cared for. Extensive original documentation, including maintenance records, are included and they will certainly help the next owner maintain a level of confidence around this Corvette’s care, mileage and condition. Might that next owner be you?

This is priced in low mile C5 C6 territory. And way better cars. Hard pass.

Agree. This might be a $16-18,000 car. Also curious about a water pump replacement on a 14K mile car. A buyer should check to make sure the Opti-Spark ignition was replaced at the same time as the water pump. Coolant and Opti-Spark enclosures are a bad combination. The 1995 does have an improved enclosure design but they are not perfect.

I have to agree that this one is overpriced compared to similar other cars. I also agree that the LT1 Opti-Spark unit mounted under the water pump was not a good idea. The prior L98 engine may not have had as much HP as the LT1 but it was far less sensitive to to distributor issues and finding a suitable replacement can be an issue at times. One thing I never cared for on the late C4’s was the ‘bubble butt’ rear bumper cover on them, reminds me of the 74 and later C3’s. The early C4’s with the concaved rear end IMO were far more stylish than the later ones. I do like the color on this one as well as having the luggage rack. It’s pretty but not the most desirable one to me.

At that price, it better be the best C4 on the market right now, and it isn’t.

Not worth anywhere near $26,000. On its best day it might be worth $18,000 but that would be pushing it.

Opti spark / water pump, check for sure, also rubber gaskets around doors, hatch, roof etc. And wiring looms near heat shields, (fried my distributor on my ’94). Price does seem high given the mileage.
For me it would have to be in Bright aqua metallic, best color for a C4 !
    (IMHO).

I know it wasn’t all that you wanted, but I think you did pretty good on this.

      Thanks for letting us know.
