27 Feet of Luxury: 1959 Cadillac Stretch Limo

If a 1959 Cadillac wasn’t long enough, this one (probably a Series 62) is said to measure 27 feet. That’s because it’s been converted into a stretch limousine. The work appears to be more recent than having been done by one of those conversion outfits that made ambulances and hearses back in the day. We’re told you’ll have to contact the seller in McKean, Pennsylvania to get the full story on how this limo came to be. The big Cadillacs got redesigned in 1959 (and updated in 1960). The tailfins got bigger and bigger and the ones on the ‘59s might be the loftiest of the era. They deployed GM’s C-body platform that the Oldsmobile 98 and Buick Electra would also utilize. The cars were 19 feet long and weighed in at around 5,000 pounds.

Though we’re told this limo has just 63,000 miles, its 390 cubic inch V8 (325 horses) has been rebuilt. And that motor is paired with a 4-speed Hydramatic (we’re assuming both pieces of hardware are numbers matching). About eight feet of length was added to the Caddy, presumably all in the wheelbase and the passenger capacity is said to be eight people. But does that include the rumble seat added where the trunk once was?

The bodywork, paint, and interior all look to have been done well to pull this project off. More recent work performed includes new batteries (there are two of them), headliner, the divider between the front and back, some of the upholstery, and a sound system. We’re told RGB lighting has also been added to the passenger arena. Facebook seems to be the least likely place to advertise a $100k vehicle, but free is free. I’d hate to have to parallel park this beast!
