Success Story: Georgia Collection ’70 Saab 96

As some of you likely know, I am helping to clear out a large collection of salvage and project vehicles from a private owner. You can read more about the collection here and Part II, which features additional vehicles for sale, is readable here. It never ceases to amaze me that the people who call to discuss certain vehicles and negotiate a price end up with solid projects for reasonable money. Here are a few others up for grabs:

    now this I like (restored).
I remember when they came to town, 3 cyl, 2 stroke…
    AND when they left
    AWD, V6, twin turbo…

Yeah, what about the Saab? I don’t see it anywhere on the listings. Sure has a lot of diversified stuff, good stuff too. Sadly, I see most of it going to the shredder. Just too expensive to bring these things back. People are having trouble selling nice stuff, much less rusty projects.

Not sure what the confusion is. The Saab is the “success story” in that it sold and is going to a new owner to be restored.

Howard, everyone who has stepped up and gotten on the phone with me, made a real offer, etc. has gone home with a new project. These vehicles are NOT going to the shredder.

Ok, ok, that’s cool, it’s just there seems to be an epidemic of these collections popping up, and yes, there was a time when these were all viable projects, however I just don’t see it happening today. Seems you have a special interest in these vehicles, and I wish you luck.

Sure – and lots of collections go no where – but one would think a staff member of this site staking his own reputation on a sale like this would be good enough to give our readers SOME comfort that this is not a crapshoot. ;-) Just sayin’.

real nice co but financial troubles / che**y bought em & didn’t do em any favors, (blew em up). China almost resurrected, but no – 2X local Swedes – very sm limited (not really start-up) and all this since 2012 I believe…

Isuzu same, they both gave up the cars 4 bigger, financially stronger, prts of their co.
    Now ur turn:

How come Oz kicked out all the foreign auto makers? Goin all electric? Just wanna have domestics? May B Adam will pipe up…
